Omg the food was terrible! I ordered the fried chicken breakfast with grits and eggs, and NOTHING had flavor. My sister had a breakfast burrito, and she said without the side sauce, it was flavorless also. The 2 stars are because the service and coffee were good. Johnny Rebs, do better, I don't see myself returning.

4-9-24I walked in on a call. There was one server and she appeared busy, so I continued my call and waited, after a few minutes I saw that she wasn’t so busy but at no point was I greeted, or asked if I could be helped. So, I asked if I needed to order online or if I could order with her? She said, “I was waiting on you to finish your phone call” well, How would I know that? It was my first time, so I ordered the Pulled Chicken Sandwich and fries. Well I made it back to work and opened it, she mistook my order and gave me a Pork Sandwich.Food Is Terrible, BBQ sauce has zero taste, the French fries were so dry the ketchup don’t even help. Overall, I feel like my dark complexion may have had something to do with my service, because the other 2 gentleman that walked in after me were greeted with great big hellos.. so I’m sure they don’t care, but JOHNNY REBS gave me no reason to return to their established at all.. Brothers and Sisters…. You’ve been warned.

I found this spot by accident and did not regret coming here. I ordered half boudin balls, 2 piece southern fried chicken, and build your own bowel Mac & Cheese. It was so good the fried chicken is so light and crispy. I highly recommend if you’re looking for something different, Enjoy!

Bland, soulless, and did I say bland? II ordered the fried chicken meal with mixed veggies and Mac & cheese with corn bread. The chicken had no flavor, fried in cornmeal, no salt, no spices, just all around bland. The skin however was beautifully crispy, but that was the only good thing. The Mac was MUSHY, little to no flavor. The mixed veggies... tasted like a gas fire. My wife ordered the bbq chicken with mash potatoes and gravy, beans and a biscuit. She says the bbq sauce was AWFUL. So I gave it a go. Dammit man, the sauce tasted like tangy chemicals. I didn't try the beans because it had pork in it, but according to my wife they were a bland tomato sauce with the same weird chemical taste. The biscuit, HA! Dry and bland... again. The only saving grace to this meal was the mashed potatoes. We've both lived in the American south. One side of my family is from South Carolina and I lived in Georgia for 6 years. I have NEVER had southern food taste so bad. I do not recommend for anyone who has southern roots and have had true southern food.

I really wanted to like this place but I couldn't enjoy it because of all the gnats flying around. The meat was tender but I didn't like the bbq sauce they drenched over meat. Everything tastes pretty bland BUT the catfish. The catfish was probably my favorite. Service was great though as for the ambiance, the flies ruined it for me!

I really didn't care for the food. That is not to say that the next person will not like it. I'm used to certain BBQ taste, as I have only purchased it from Black establishments. The seasoning from Johnny's is totally different from what I am used to. I do suggest the place, it just wasn't for me.

The waiter was very attentive and a very polite person! The food was average...not terrible but not great either. I did not like the small flies that have overtaken the restaurant though! Bite, swat, wave, swat, bite.

Everything I've ever had there is good! And I have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Everyone is really friendly and inviting! Give them a try, it's worth it.

Great food! Great service! Small but cozy. I'd choose Johnny Reb's over Lucilles any time.

Food would've been more enjoyable if it wasn't for all the gnats all over. As servers passed by seeing us waving the bugs off our plates and utensils without offering to move us or apologize we decided it was time to leave $120 later. Pure disappointment.

So I'm giving this about a 2.5 star and my wife's coworkers were the ones who recommended this place and I'm gonna start off by saying I'm very disappointed in my wife coworkers lol. We had hush puppies for an appetizer and they seem like over fried an old oil and didn't have a lot of flavoring in them, and not really worth it. I had a barbecue plate where the brisket was actually very tender. I didn't get a chance to try my beef ribs and the pork ribs honestly did fall off the bone. With that being said, the barbecue sauce sucked and they put a lot of it on your food. The mashed potatoes and gravy were actually pretty good and I had mac & cheese which wasn't bad wasn't good. It was pretty just middle of the road. The cornbread wasn't good at all. My wife had the catfish, which was actually pretty good. She also had the Cajun rice which she took maybe two bites and didn't like it and it had like hard pieces in it. The only other good thing was the sweet tea. But then again, how do you really mess up sweet tea you just put a bunch of sugar in it. The waiter was a really nice guy and a good job but of course you're also working for tips, so that is what it is.
