My husband took me here to celebrate my birthday and he chose it because we were going to the Opera after to see La Traviata, so he wanted to make a theme night. The restaurant is small and quaint. They had live music. The decor is very simple, a bit rustic? But had some very pretty chandeliers. You must have reservations and must arrive on time. Our server was very polite and was quick at answering questions and making suggestions. I ordered the Chicken Milanese, and my husband had the Lasagna. Both were very delicious. We did not have any wine although it looked like they had a good selection and we opted for no dessert (good selection as well), as our meals were pretty good size. We both liked it and would go back. This restaurant has been open for 25 yrs.Parking: There is a public parking structure but it was a block away. Street parking is metered

The food and service were excellent. I was not crazy about their house Chianti and my girlfriend did not like the chardonnay by the glass as well. I would trade up on the wine. They had a jazz guitar and bass player who were very good and gave the restaurant a perfect ambiance.

First time here and just loved it. Overall great experience and the ambiance is spot-on what I was looking for for a nice-but-cozy date night. Will definitely be back!

I never have bothered to leave a bad restaurant review but last night was special. It was New Years Eve so I'm assuming that's why our table for two was arranged cheek by jowl with the adjacent table. The musical entertainment that we paid extra for never happened. It was supposed to start at 8pm; we left at about 9:15 never hearing a note. Wait staff seemed like they had maybe started their New Year celebrations/libations early. Salad was swimming in dressing; tomatoes weren't fresh. Bread was stale and wet. Squash soup tasted like it came out of a box. Steak was cooked very nicely. Lobster portion was small but cooked very nicely. Pasta was overcooked and flavorless. Apple “streusel” had thick soggy crust. Tiramisu was good. The proprietor asked how everything was. So I told him. So he comped my wife's Prosecco and gave me a second glass of the (cheaper) Chardonnay. This special New Year's Eve event was grossly overpriced and disappointing.

Love this resturant and the owner's personal visits to every table. It's such a nice touch. They had violin player for Christmas dinner. That was a nice addition. Usually they have some sort of live music which makes the dining experience more enjoyable. Food is always great.

We had the pleasure of dining at La Traviata on Christmas Day. The staff was welcoming and attentive and the food and drinks were delicious! The ambiance was wonderful with the live violinist. A wonderful way to spend the holiday with family. We will definitely be returning soon!

This is by far my favorite Italian place in Long Beach. Truly amazing food and the service is incredible.Parking: Its difficult to find parking sometimes but a little after dinner stroll to the car isn't a bad thing. Definitely worth the walk to eat this food though.

We sat outside because the restaurant was booked with three parties. The service was excellent, the drinks perfect and appetizers scrumptious. However, the main courses while beautiful were bland and lacking seasoning. I'm hoping it was an off night since everything else was great. The food is the most important and just wasn't tasty even though it look like it would be delicious. ?

I was invited here for a Christmas party. My cousin was throwing. I love the bar and how much excitement. It brought to the restaurant. We had a private dining area and our own bartender. The meal for the evening was served family style. The entries included meat lasagna, a vegetarian lasagna, spicy pene pasta and a chicken Alfredo. What I really enjoyed the most was the Caesar salad, which was freshly made with anchovies. This classic salad is rarely made like this any more. The serving staff did great and all of our food was delivered in good time. The owner Mario is delightful and I definitely want visit again soon.

Both steaks not cooked to right temp - sent them back and still came back undercooked - chicken dinner was not cooked and pink in the middle - sides were cold - pasta was good - do not order an old fashion as a cocktail - told waitress of all our issues and they did not even comp the uncooked chicken

The ambiance was great for an intimate dinner. We celebrated my husband's birthday and the service was excellent. They even gave him a dessert of his choice - nice! The food was ok. We'd come back again to experience the live band!
