I have dined at this establishment over a dozen times, drawn back by the quality of the food and the beautiful location on the Long Beach Shoreline, which offers stunning views of the marina and lighthouse.

The ambiance is delightful, making it an enjoyable dining experience.

The food is consistently interesting, freshly prepared, and served hot. One of my favorite dishes is the shrimp and catfish po' boy, which is featured in the photo I posted; it truly showcases how delicious this sandwich is. Additionally, the gumbo fries and gumbo itself are excellent.

I have also tried the fried alligator, which, while enjoyable, lacked the seasoning flavors I expected, though the meat was fresh and well-cooked.

Regarding service, I have experienced varying levels of attentiveness. At times, the staff has been friendly and welcoming, but there have also been occasions where I've had to wait for acknowledgment when seeking to be seated or assisted.

One aspect I find less favorable is the requirement to pre-order and pay for food before being seated.

This process detracts from the traditional dining experience, limiting the interaction with servers who typically check in periodically. While someone may come by once to ensure everything is satisfactory, the lack of regular server engagement is something I found unusual.

Overall, I love this place and believe that enhancing the customer service experience could elevate it to a five-star establishment.

The non-traditional dining approach is something I'm not accustomed to, but the quality of food keeps me coming back.

Rude waitress, spoiled food. You need to tip in advance before even getting the service.

Before I got in the door I knew I'd never be back. My party was already there but I had to wait in line for over 30 minutes just to get in. My friend was told that if she wanted to order anything else after she was already seated she'd have to go back out and wait in line to place another order. After all that, the food was just average. I might have liked it more if I wasn't already pissed by the time I sat down. NEVER AGAIN!

humans in order and carry type restaurant. meaning that we ordered our food before we were seated at a table. it was very well done and we enjoyed the meal very much

Parking: the parking situation was difficult and it's very crowded there is some validated parking but the seas are still applied

Wheelchair accessibility: there are several different ways to get into the building

will you stop by Louisiana Charlie's BBQ on our way back from Spirit cruises. having just left the family member out at Sea it was there so we went in. a different kind of restaurant you order your meals at the register before you get a seat to sit down in
we were a large party which they handled quite competently the only problem that we had was the kitchen would send out the meals to the individuals in the table regardless of who else was at the table. I find it very upsetting and inconsiderate of the kitchen staff the place food before us without taking care of the rest of the party
subsequently we waited for about 5 minutes before all the people at the table were served and then we ate. it's rude to eat in front of people when they don't have food. pushing the plates on to us only makes us have to wait with our food while others await the arrival of their dishes.

Parking: there was some parking down by the Louisiana Charlie's but I must tell you that it was run by a company that although validation was the paint was available it's still cost to park here.

This was the first stop on my vacation in Downtown Long Beach and I was impressed with the food. The portions were enormous and the gumbo fries were a 10/10! Server was awesome and the only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars was that the Mai Tai I purchased didn't taste good at all. Nothing about that drink was a Mai tai...other than that. Great place

Horrible customer service, 1 male server is very combative and made our whole dinner experience uncomfortable, also the black cashier lady told me "Can you hurry up to order?"

My girlfriend picked this spot for my surprise birthday party because it's Black-owned and has a rep for great food. And yeah, the food was on point—everything was delicious and you could tell the kitchen knows what they're doing. But man, the service was rough. The staff came off rude and just not ready for our group, even though they knew it was a special occasion. They were even being stingy with the juice for the bottles of champagne my friends brought. It was just unnecessary. It's a real shame because we were there to support, and the food deserved better than that. If you're cool with putting up with some attitude for the sake of a bomb meal, this place might still be worth checking out.
