I went here for brunch because I saw the chicken and waffles on the menu. When I got there, I saw that it was no longer on the menu. The waitress and cook were nice to offer to still make it for me. I was disappointed in the quality of the fried chicken. The skin of the chicken was bland and very hard to chew. I had to tear off the skin and eat the chicken inside which was also tasteless and bland. The waffle was dry and tasteless as well. The only thing that gave the meal any flavor was the syrup, which was disappointing. Potato’s were similarly underwhelming and unevenly cooked. It was an expensive meal for the quality and taste. I was very let down.

Our server Josh saw us struggling to find a parking spot, told us to park in their parking lot. Josh provided great service and would recommend anyone to come here.

Josh was our server, and he was very patient and helpful. In fact, the entire team was amazing! Great food, ambience, and cleanliness. Would eat breakfast here every weekend if I lived near Long Beach??. Thanks for making my son's birthday special♥️

Thoroughly enjoyed brunch with 3 of my besties this last weekend. I ordered the peninsula omelet and my 3 friends ordered avocado toast with their eggs prepared 3 different ways. We all agreed each of our entrees was delicious with fresh ingredients, beautifully prepared and played beautifully. One friend said that as a self-proclaimed avocado toast expert, theirs was hands down the best. Coffee was brewed fresh. Will definitely be a regular from now on!!

Great newer restaurant on the Long Beach peninsula.
I had the chicken pesto sandwich and my partner had the pesto pasta. Both entrees were fantastic! The service was superb and all the staff was attentive. The pricing was fair and the restaurant was very clean.
The only negative is that the wifi sucks and TMobile service is non-existent.
I’ll definitely be back. In the summer, this would be a great spot to grab a to-go lunch and head to the sand.

We love this place! The food is delicious, the service is excellent and the food variety is extensive. I feel like every time we eat there, I’m getting a very healthy meal. Furthermore, the food presentation is beautiful every time. Another plus is that they deliver.

Very cute tiny joint. Call ahead to ask if there is a wait. You can also go online and order ahead for pick up. Olive also caters.
It has been open since May 2024 but I just found out about it while bicycling the Penninsula. I had an Oat Milk Matcha Latte. It was good.
I can tell you the plated food looked GREAT. The baked goods case looked only as good as what you could buy at Starbucks. I don't think they bake on site. The two ladies in the photo with me have gotten coffee twice here. They say the coffee drinks are adequate but the wait is too long. The staff said business has really been picking up so maybe they are understaffed for how popular they are getting.
What they DO have on site is parking in a fenced in lot next door. This is good because 62nd is a postage stamp of a street.
I would recommend this place as a great place to meet a friend for brunch. Small, cute, not too loud. And you can walk to the sandy part of the Penninsula right after you eat.

We are so happy to have Olive By the Bay now open in the Peninsula community of Long Beach CA. They offer a great location near the beach. We have been here several times and have enjoyed delicious food for both breakfast and lunch. We often go by for coffee as well. We recommend you stop by and eat here. Tip: make sure you pay attention to the parking regulations / street sweeper.

Yummy things: chilaquiles with steak, brioche French toast and a side egg/bacon! We also ordered a cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso + an iced double espresso with honey. Our server was so sweet! And love the patio seating area, very vibeyyyy

Well decorated, great location, really wanted to like this.
The food is overpriced for what it is and doesn’t seem to be made with fresh ingredients. I thought maybe I had ordered wrong after my first visit, and decided to try more Mediterranean options on a follow up visit, but it was all lacking in flavor and a bit dry (maybe could benefit from something like a complimentary garlic sauce). I would not hold it to the same standard as Open Sesame nearby, but was still disappointed
