Even after moving from Long Beach, I make the drive from HB strictly to come back here and get a sandwich. The Spicy Steve sandwich has such a special place in my heart and my stomach. Staff here is always so nice and helpful, and gives me that small town market feel while tucked away in a big city. Even when not getting a sandwich their artisanal options for groceries and other needs are so great! Miss living nearby, but that doesn't stop me from visiting, and it that should be the same for you!

Cute little shop selling some really good stuff. Ordered sandwiches and ate them outside. Everything on the menu looked so good, had a hard time deciding. Cubano was 10/10!

Love all the food here especially the chicken enchiladas. A bit pricey but well worth it for the quality.

Great gourmet grocery and deli. I had the steak BLT sandwich which was delicious, an Italian pasta salad and bought a thin slice of meatloaf for a sandwich later. So much to choose from! Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

I believe the food is good but I was treated horribly today. I will not return as I was attempting to buy lunch for an office and was told they could not figure out how to use my corporate Visa. Such a waste of time

OMG!!!! The food is EXCELLENT!!! Freshly made bread is used for the sandwiches, there are so many options on the menu that I wanted! It was so hard to choose! The roast beef sandwich was amazing!!!
The entire place is well organized and set up in such a thoughtful way! My friend and I met for lunch and really enjoyed the outdoor seating! The neighborhood was pretty quiet so we could enjoy good conversation and company!
We shared a slice Olive oil cake and it was superb!!!! It kind of tasted like lemon scone meets pound cake with a nice light whipped cream on top 🤤💘
The drink selection was abundant!!! I am not a wine drinker, but they have a lot of options regarding wine, beer, kombucha, sodas, water, etc.
Absolutely positively recommend!!! 💯💯💯🎯

I really wanted to love this place however there a few things that bothered me starting with the expired raw chicken in the refrigerator. Basic food knowledge is raw chicken must be stored on the bottom and the fact that it’s expired concerns me.
Another issue I had was how dirty the panini press was and the fact that the employees are okay with that.
The third issue was when I saw an employee use the same tool to spread garlic spread then use it again to spread tomato pesto. Basic food knowledge will tell you that it’s cross contamination.
The fourth issue was when new aioli was put on top of old aioli. Basic food knowledge is first in first out.
All of these issues demonstrate that there is no real passion for culinary here at this establishment and it’s just a job.
My final issue was when I ordered the number 1 my steak was thrown into a microwave which completely over cooked the steak and ruined the flavor and texture.
I really wanted to love this place but the lack of passion here is so apparent and I will never come back again.

I am conflicted writing this review. I agree that the food here is delicious but it must be said — the staff is just not friendly.

I came in for the first time last week and the younger woman with the braid that handled my order was almost militant in her demeanor. No smiles, barely any eye contact, flat affect and tone. Get in get out. Gentleman with the white hair is kind but timid. Okay fine.

I come again yesterday and this time an older woman was present. She takes a looks at me and “what do you want? The menus are over there?” She was louder and less tactful, made me prefer the younger woman. My husband then turns to me and gives a chuckle. We just couldn’t stop laughing watching the way the staff interacted with the customers, the vibe was so dry, off, and awkward. It felt like we were all trying to stand as still as we possibly could to not upset the staff.

Love the food here but not exactly a pleasant experience. If I’m going to spend as much as I do here, I’d like to be treated better. A simple smile or how is your morning going would go a long way.

This is my fav sandwich spot in LB. I come here for the best veggie sandwiches! Love their patio too.

Olives is the cutest! Wonderful customer service, adorable store, and great sandwiches. The #8 (no mayo) is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! I always visit when I’m in town 😊
