We were visiting from Seattle and wandered into Osaka Story completely by accident… which is now the best accident we’ve ever had.

The staff were so kind and friendly that we instantly felt like regulars, even though we’d just walked in off the street. The food was so good we came back the very next day like, “Hey, it’s us again, don’t mind us.” And the beef yaki udon? Chef’s kiss. Truly “I could write poetry about this noodle” levels of good.

We will absolutely be back—probably more often than is reasonable for people who don’t live here.

They never miss! Fresh sushi/sashimi every time we come. This is me and my husbands go to spot. Best sushi in Long Beach!

My new favorite sushi spot in Long Beach. Omg - once, they had some uni from Japan (not Santa Barbara, like most uni here) that was unREAL. I’d advise getting some of the regular sushi/sashimi and not just rolls. Their ramen is bomb, too. As are their appetizers. We usually get the spicy edamame. The owner is a gem, too. Really nice lady who remembers her customers, which always feels nice.

The food was lowkey garbage and overpriced, the people kept coming up to me every 2 seconds

We ordered the sushi roll plate and it was a big disappointment. Pretty much all of the rolls were fake krab meat. It was not worth the money for fake krab.

Had Osaka Story for the first time and was seriously impressed. The quality of the fish, the presentation, and the service were all outstanding.

They had actual Spanish Mackerel, and the Uni was incredibly fresh—which really sealed the deal for me. You can tell they care about sourcing and craft.

The staff was friendly and attentive, and the whole experience felt elevated and welcoming.

I’ll definitely be coming back. A true gem in Long Beach for sushi lovers.

This place is exceptional we went on a holiday weekend and got right in and had quick service! We tried the black mamba, firecracker, and salmon rolls as well as the gyozo. I’d get everything again but I’m sure I’ll try some other stuff next time we’re here.

Osaka Story is one place we continue to 'crave' as they have the best bento ever. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which being in the shore, we always want to be outside. Reyna, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart, and checked in on everyone's tables while we were there. It really means a great deal to see owner/management involvement. Our bentos were exceptional, and they give you a lot of food. Great service, excellent food, and a wonderful location to enjoy the afternoon. Can't ask for much more.
