DO NOT COME HERE. They take your money and say you didn't pay. Customer service is horrible.... Would not recommend! Plenty of other restaurants that will gladly take your money.

We came to Phil Trani's with a party of six on 05/09/2024 at about 7pm. I have personally never been to this restaurant before. It is in NW Long Beach, unassuming, older building and even the inside looks like it has been around for generations (not a bad thing). Parking is free and easy with the lot they have. It appears they have lots of outdoor seating too, if that is your thing. Our food came out very fast and our server was very nice. I would consider this a nicer diner, elevated because it has more than a diner menu would have. I had the crab stuffed halibut, which I would rank pretty high. It was good; however, it was not crab stuffed. It was a pretty large piece of Halibut; however, the crab was placed on top -- not near as much as if it was stuffed with crab. With that, I had a side of mashed potatos and veggies. I added a side cesar salad. Everything was good; however, I was just a tad disappointed with the misleading menu description on the halibut. Otherwise, all good!

Super fun kinda old-school place to go in Long Beach. Always have some great entertainment, really good bar and the food is super tasty. Pretty reasonably priced also.
I have enjoyed my time here, the Ambience, food, and people

Went there on Thursday night around 6:30. Place looked like it may have been somewhere special to go 20-30 years ago given the dates of all the athlete and celebrity pics on the wall, but it seemed tired and worn now. Service was really bad even though only two tables were being used in the large dining area. Food was fair to poor, but we didn’t get a steak, which may be the call here. Not a very good dining experience. There was a little action in the bar. Maybe we should have eaten in there to help with the atmosphere at least.

Embarrassed for your staff for surveying the smallest potato and like 2 small broccoli pieces
After arriving from LAX, we stopped at this nearby place for food. It took 10 mins to even be acknowledged and seated. The menu was nothing like the photos and had about 5 options that were completely overpriced. We ended up ordering, then 10 mins later, we were informed they didn’t have one of the 5 options(pot roast). It ended up taking 40 mins for our food, which was small portions and very average tasting. Also nothing about it was European as suggested, just basic american food. The calamari was good tho and the live music, which salvaged a meal with slow service and overpriced food.

We've been going there for over 20 years and the food is still very good and reasonably priced. Service is good and a fun atmosphere with live entertainment on at least Saturdays. They went through a whole remodeling phase in 2021, so it's kind of different now but there's the same sports memorabilia all over. Phil is a Great guy...please support the location! Nice sized parking lot too.

I love this unassuming spot. The food is great quality! The wine is a tasty compliment! The blackened salmon is one of my favorites. It's no doubt Scottish salmon. We always eat in the indoor bar area or the outside patio. There are several TVs in the bar without sound so you can watch and still have a conversation. Bar area is updated. Lights are pleasantly low. I think the indoor restaurant seating is open Thursday through the weekend. Halibut is good. Husband loves the steak! Delicious calamari strips too. If you're looking for a low key spot check them out.Parking: Small dedicated free parking lot.
