I'm a coffee snob from Seattle and by far the espresso here is the best in Long Beach. Even the decaf is stellar. The staff is incredibly sweet and they always host fun art community events like poetry jams and zine fests! Only complaint is they always have the AC blasted. Aside from that, 5 stars ❤️

Great environment and service. The quick coffee was also super tasty. However the value on the breakfast sandwich was not great. It's over $10 for a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, and the egg was very small. If the bacon weren't sticking out of the sides, you wouldn't even see any substantive ingredients between the buns.

Got greeted warmly the second I walked in. Exposed brick walls which is a rarity! Delicious espresso and comfy couches. Love this place wish I was closer

Cozy and welcoming vibe from the decor and the staff. The hazelnut latte special was good and not too sweet. I'm not local but would visit again!

I didn’t come here for the coffee (my wife did), but the oatmeal! It was so good, earthy and had the perfect balance of sweetness and flavor. I’d highly recommend. It’s a great way to start the day especially after traveling and eating different foods. Will definitely be back!

I've visited Recreational a few times and it's always great. But George made it a really special visit today. He genuinely wanted to know how I liked my oat cappuccino (which was balanced just how I love), and then we nerded out about coffee for a few minutes and we dove deep into some real life talk. You can't fake the curiosity of a great barista in a great Cafe environment. I also loved seeing a sweet meetup happening here, maybe a group or club of young people. Just a dope spot for an afternoon treat! Much love from Portland.

I had a really great time here and finished my video without any problems. It is definitely a place worth visiting for those who want to balance work and leisure.

Took 15 minutes to prepare a $6 cup of drip coffee.. only to find out that they were out at 12pm on a Sunday. I got iced coffee instead; they were mid-pour and ran out of it, so I saw them just load extra ice to fill my cup. Pretty terrible for overpriced coffee.

Hands down one of the best to do it. Absolute must stop of you want high end espresso. Owners are the best. Went 3 days in a row it was so good. Not a vegan fan but the donuts they had where a hit.
