Horrible experience on a Saturday night 3/2. The hostess had a very rude attitude. When we asked for a follow up on our table (which there were 5 open at the time) she would just walk away from us. We were about to leave due to her unprofessional and other people got involved so we could get seated. The food is great.

Excellent Colombian brunch. The pork belly was crispy and well seasoned with just the right amount of fat. The selva steak and eggs plate was a great sampler of many of their dishes. The service is great and friendly. I had the carajillo coffee cocktail with brandy, which was good, but not my favorite. My other friends loved it though. Definitely recommend this place and will come again!

I hope they just had a rough night last night but the service was some of the worst i’ve had in recent memory. it took almost 10 minutes to even have someone say hi to us after we were seated. another 10 minutes for a drink menu. ordered 3 small plates that came out 1 at a time. which is fine we weren’t in a rush but was never once checked on about if food was good or if we wanted more (scallops and octopus were good, fried rice was okay). was still really hungry so i finally flagged someone down to order the pork chop but i wish i didn’t. really dry pork chop and once again no one ever checked on us to see how it was going. spent over 2 hours and $200 (2 drinks each, only got beer and wine because the bar looked stressed) and left disappointed and hungry.

One of my favorite local spots that pays real good attention to quality, flavor and experience. Great for date night or Sunday brunch. I don’t drink, but the bar looks top notch too. Also, bonus points because most of the menu is gluten free because we all have that one friend who’s sensitive.Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free options!!

One of the worst service experiences I’ve ever encountered. I made a reservation online, which required a CC. That’s fine. I called the restaurant since we were running late, asked to move the reservation back. When we arrived late, the table was already given away. But they offer to put my name on the wait list and we get a text when a table became available. Within 10 mins of waiting I as charged $30 for the reservation. Who does that? We were there, yes 15 mins after the reservation time. But still wanted to dine at the restaurant and give them money. I asked why they charged this and if this is taken off when we dine. They said no. They want to charge even if you eat there! Kayley(?) was rude. This could have been avoided and we could have eaten and maybe even enjoyed it. But this is horrible service and if they treat customers as poorly as this, they don’t deserve anyone’s business.

In terms of what the best thing this restaurant has, it would for sure be the look once you get inside. It looks like a selva, sorta dark inside, with a lot decorations high up on the walls. The service is impeccable and during the one time I went, I felt totally at ease to give Desiree any request. When I was there it was lunchtime and I ordered the arepas, buñuelos and yuca fries. I discovered these 3 are all pretty much side dishes, and made a mental note to try a larger dish (a main) for the next time. Truth be told, the flavor was rich & delicious.Only thing: the arepas are not Venezuelan style! I was a little disappointed. But I can't put blame on anyone for this decision. All I can say is: Those who know, Know what an Arepa is!

Cute spot. Fairly busy for a Thursday evening. Everything is presented with a lot of care and it looks like a lot of effort goes into everything. Love that attention to detail. Great service, good balance of presence for sitting at the bar. Enjoyed mora amor cocktail, a sweeter drink which is my preference. Really cute iridescent oil on top. Anise old fashioned was interesting and also fairly sweet. Crudo scallops (3) were great, great presentation too. Fried rice was good I’d like to try sea scallops or mushroom version next time. I ended up spending around $60 got two cocktails, and 1 1/2 appetizers. It’s tapas style so they are small plates. Rice was relatively large portion we didn’t end up finishing it. Overall good experience and would visit again!

Food: Three-starsService: Five-starsAtmosphere: Five-stars A restaurant in Long Beach that felt like a hidden gem. The dining area had a dark wooden tone that added to the overall ambiance. The entrance led to an amazing displayed bar with screened televisions on top. However, Selva has limited parking on the side, and during busy hours, it can be a challenge to find a spot. Additionally, getting in and out of the parking lot can be a bit tricky due to the rush of traffic on Anaheim St. I suggest finding street parking, even if it means to drive a block or two over. The service at the restaurant was fantastic, and while we ordered more than what is listed below, some of our orders never came out. It was unclear whether it was due to them being out of stock or if they just never made it to our table. Regardless, I appreciated that the kitchen didn't rush our order when we notified our server that we did not receive all of our meals. Instead, they took the items off our order, which was a thoughtful gesture."What I ordered:RAFAJO COLOMBIANO (cerveza and Colombian soda) - Ordered a pitcher. This is a mix of Pale Ale and Inka Cola. Cultural and delicious! PORK BELLY CHICHARRON (Niman Ranch pork belly) - I have mixed feelings about this order. The pictures online looked way tastier than what was presented. The texture of the pork was good, but I expected more. I think I overhyped myself for this.GRILLED SPANISH OCTOPUS (charred octopus, grilled seasonal veggies, red chummi aioli, yucca strips) - I would SKIP this appetizer. The presentation was pretty. However, for the price and the size of the tentacle, it wasn't worth it. We sliced this baby octopus arm into six pieces, and it came to be the size of a dime, so sad for a sharing plate. SPICY SMOKED POLLO (full) - I'm glad that the chicken was not as a whole but rather chopped into multiple pieces, which made it easier to munch. This was my FAVORITE dish of all. Definitely, order it if it's available. Also, make sure to ask for their spicy green sauce, which pairs well with the chicken. The other three standard sauces are also good with the chicken. YUCCA FRIES (cumin, garlic, cilantro) - Crunchy and a good side order for a group. RIBEYE (24 oz Bone-In) - This item was their Daily Special. We do not regret ordering this. HOWEVER, the menu on the wall DID NOT state that it was Bone-In. There is an extra two or three ounces lost when you consider the weight of the bone. OBLEA (Wafer pancake with caramel) - Thank you for the free dessert. We were here to celebrate my friend finishing grad school. We felt the appreciation for this special dessert.

Great food enjoyed several of the tapas plates. When the restaurant got busy the lack of service became evident that they don't have a good system set up to follow up .
