Always delicious.
I live in the Shore and have been coming here for years. I will no longer be going. Food quality has gone down hill + portion sizes have shrunk and they are understaffed so waiting for someone to check on you has become unreasonable. Taco Shore up the street is a lot better!

This was our last time to go here, we have been going for over 30 years. No more. Not the same place it used to be. The Salsa was different. The portions are smaller, the recipes seem different.
Even the side order of flour tortillas was terrible, they used to be this great huge flour tortilla, this time it was 3 small ones with a yellow tint to them. Someone thought it was a good idea to seat up a DJ on the sidewalk seating, not a good idea. Also, there where 2 mangers that never acknowledged customers, they just talked to each other. Service went down hill years ago after they went corporate. So long Super Mex.

Supermex used to be a cozy spot to hang out after a day at the beach. It had a very beachy vibe, and good food and drinks. Now the food is hit or miss. I got the veggies burrito, and the bell peppers were raw. The burrito was bland with very little flavor. The prices have gotten ridiculous. 3 tacos, rice and beans is $20. Yikes. I am about priced out of a restaurant that doesn't even have a good atmosphere anymore. I won't be going back.

I love coming here with my kids. For some reason the kids always behave here very well (3 kids, 2 under 2) the services is very welcoming.
I use to love the food here but the food is not the same anymore. I've had Super Mex twice in one month at downtown and 2nd street location. Customer service awesome , food was just okay.
This is a beautiful restaurant, great service and very inviting. Cool place to hangout. I got my food to go. And when you take your food home, you get to truly experience a restaurant.
Ultimately I came to the conclusion that the food here is lazy, stale and just plain bad. I ordered a wet burrito, a bean and cheese burrito and a side of guacamole.
You can tell a lot about a place by how many shortcuts they take. For example, their guacamole had about 10% avocado, and 90% onion, tomato and cilantro. This was one of the worst, chunky watered down versions of guacamole I’ve ever had. Another shortcut they took was with their cheese, it was like Taco Bell cheese, it didn’t melt, it just got all soggy. It’s wild to be a Mexican restaurant and get outshined by chipotle, chipotle uses quality cheese and they guacamole is on point!
I’d stay away from here, unless you plan on getting extremely drunk, cause then you may not be bothered by the subpar food they serve here.
Oh and also, the wet burrito had no flavor, all I tasted was the salt. 🤢😷
The service here is always amazing and the food is super good!

Always good. Called me back after I placed a Togo order due to an allergy in dish I ordered.
Gotta fix your apps bruh you’re letting people order food then wait 40 minutes to say you don’t serve that bc it’s after 3pm we’ll go make it or fix your app settings. They were nice about it but idk just fix your menu.
Order soup... 20 minutes later they tell us that they don't have enough for 2 people had to order different soup...the beef soup was not that great either the corn looks and tasted old. We didn't enjoy our dinner. Definitely they are off our list
Where do I begin? I have been a loyal customer of Super Mex for the last 25 years. I have consistently ordered the same items from their menu. In the last year, I have noticed the quality significantly decrease and after my experience today, I do not know where I stand. I went into Super Mex tonight for just chips and salsa. Not only were the chips and salsa over $20 but the service I received from the manager in particularly was unacceptable. I was not paying attention and I simply was asking about the price and the manager immediately cut me off and told me “ We make the salsa fresh every day” and that is why the price of the salsa is more than any burrito on the menu. He then immediately walked away without allowing me to respond. I thought this was a silly response because shouldn’t all of their food be made fresh every day? When I asked another staff member about the price, they mentioned that corporate said whatever sells they should continue to increase the prices. On top of the ridiculous pricing and the terrible service I received in this interaction, I also had a major allergic reaction. I have a strawberry allergy. Why would I have a major allergic reaction from salsa that does not contain strawberries and I have been eating for over 25 years? I just overpaid for chips and salsa AND to use an EpiPen. I hope no one has an experience like this and that there are some major changes in the future, as I am devastated by this experience and what this place used to be.
Had a meal with friends at the SuperMex in Belmont Shore last night. I have been a SuperMex customer for over 40 years now (ouch!) - starting off with the one in Surfside, but also eating at the downtown location fairly frequently. So I really do KNOW how good SuperMex can be. I hadn't had a real meal all day, so I ordered the three item combo. The shredded beef taco was perfect - it is one of the best tacos around in my opinion, and always has been. The chile relleno was pretty good, but not as spicy as I prefer them to be (and usually are). The enchilada, however, was almost nothing. I don't know if it was late and they right out of ingredients, if the cook was pissed off at the waitress, or if something just slipped by, but it wasn't rolled correctly and was almost empty. I was disappointed, and while I know that it is hard to maintain quality decade after decade, this is not what I expect from a place with so much great history.
