Sushi Ai in Long Beach is a fantastic find! I visited for dinner on a Sunday night and tried their combo, which was excellent in both quality and portion size.

While I don't personally eat sushi or sashimi, I was craving some good katsu, and Sushi Ai didn't disappoint. Their katsu was delicious and perfectly prepared.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, and the service was efficient and friendly. Even if you're not a fan of raw fish, Sushi Ai offers a variety of options that cater to different tastes.

Overall, I highly recommend Sushi Ai for anyone looking for delicious Japanese cuisine in Long Beach. It's a great spot for both sushi lovers and those who prefer cooked dishes. You won't be disappointed!

I recently had a wonderful dining experience at Sushi Ai in Long Beach and wanted to share my thoughts. While I don't typically eat sushi or sashimi, I was in search of quality katsu, and Sushi Ai exceeded my expectations. I visited on a Sunday evening and opted for their dinner combo, which proved to be an excellent choice. The portion sizes were generous, and the quality of the food was impressive. The katsu, in particular, was exceptional - perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. Although I didn't partake in the sushi offerings, the selection appeared diverse and appealing. The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasantly relaxed, and the staff were attentive and professional. The service was prompt and efficient, contributing to an overall smooth dining experience. Sushi Ai in Long Beach is a versatile establishment that caters to various preferences. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or prefer cooked Japanese dishes, I believe you'll find something to enjoy here. The restaurant successfully balances quality, value, and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Sushi Ai for anyone in the Long Beach area looking for a satisfying Japanese meal. It's a testament to the diverse culinary options our city has to offer. #SushiAi #LongBeachDining #JapaneseCuisine

Never took our order after 30+min waiting in a mostly empty restaurant. One of the only places open past 9, we got there at 8:50 and immediately sat ourselves. The waiter brought us water then disappeared. Another couple showed up at 9:10 and were told it was almost last call. Our waiter took their order immediately and disappeared. Another waiter saw we were still waiting at 9:20, told us he’d be with us in a second, then stood next to our table chatting with his friends for 10 minutes. We had to just leave because clearly we were invisible to the staff.

This is my new favorite sushi place! Too bad it is an hour away, but I guess I will need to visit Long Beach more often. We got lucky and got a table for 6. The food was served quickly and was delicious as well as plated beautifully. I don't know what the thing was that was served on fire, but it was awesome! I got to try a lot of new things I don't usually find at my sushi place. Especially loved the deep fried spicy tuna on the deep fried rice! Wow! Also loved the decor. This is the place to be!

Been coming here for years. First time we are puzzled by the size of the sushi roll. Spider roll that I alway have was paper thin and hardly had any fried crab. Truly surprised of the difference in the size of the serving! Guess Won’t be ordering it any more.

Best sushi on second street. The redheaded waitress was so awesome. She is literally the nicest. Always has a smile on her face and great recommendations for sushi. Highly recommend this place. Great service overall!

Food was great! Chris our chef is a professional! The service was HORRIBLE, our waitress, (red hair, in her mid-late 30’s) was incredibly rude, blatantly fake, ill-mannered and impolite… will not be returning ?

Revising my review for this place. This place is in tight competition right now with Sushi On Fire along 2nd street, but this is still my preferred high-quality sushi spot. This place really outdoes itself with the quality and uniqueness of its rolls. A lot of my love comes down to the umami they pack into their special dressings they pair with the sushi. The Scottish salmon, the fried arugula, the stinky roll with the mix of fried garlic and onion. And the price comparatively to others here is great if not excellent. Even their Uni is solid (the best I've had is from a place that kept them live in Santa Barbara, a high bar to compare to). Even if the service is slow or inaccurate as of the past couple times, I'm willing to wait. This place deserves a shot, dare to compare what they've got to others.
