Absolutely the most delicious sushi anywhere! The service was good...just wish a bit more attentive to refill water and check on things, as it wasn't very busy. Still solid 5 stars for the outstanding cuisine!

The food was good, but not great. Anything requiring a sear tasted of butane from the blowtorch used. The most disappointing part of the meal was the service. While we got everything we asked for, the staff wasn't very welcoming or engaged with us or the tables around us. Overall, the experience was fine, but there are better options for the money.

This was very delicious high in price for the portions. The one turnoff was the appetizer tostada at $14. With literally only a small portion of salad, it's just 4 tortilla chips with tiny tasty greens. I almost fainted when I paid $28 for 8 pieces of chips with greens on top. Other than that, the food was good. Would go back again. Oh yea, the service was great too!

This is our favorite sushi spot if you like a twist. We made reservations and even brought our 3-week old baby in his stroller. They sat us in the patio and were very accommodating on a busy Valentine's Day evening.

Can't get over the rude host staff - NOT kid friendly. If your restaurant is entirely empty, no need to ask if someone has a reservation, relegate them to the bar, or ask them to move their bag off another chair. Also, the yuzu kosho sauce on the scallop dish is terrible and should not be served. First time I've ever not liked a sushi dish. Unagi, crispy rolls were ok but can't get over the attitude. This isn't Sushi Yamamoto, you're in Long Beach, come on!

Had this place recommendation to me by a coworker and the sushi was amazing and I'd say at a good price point for the quality. O-toro tuna was delicious, the sushi nikkei/Peruvian fashion pieces were elegant and creative, and the the dusty roll was delicious. I plan on coming back again for another special occasion!
The food at Sushi Nikkei is wonderfully fresh and uniquely flavorful. I especially love the use of lime, Parmesan, and the many varieties of tasty garnishes used in this Peruvian adaptation of Japanese sushi. The cut rolls are delicious, and the special offerings, like the Parmesan Scallops are fantastic!

Wow!!! I read the reviews so couldn't wait to try this place and I was so impressed by the food. We ordered the sushi Nikkei tasting which was 8 pieces, salmon lime and grilled scallops. I have to say I would not have normally ordered the salmon lime since it has cream cheese I was so pleasantly surprised by how the flavors blended so perfectly together. The tasting was 8 pieces of nigiri 4 different kinds and each one was packed with flavor. I would definitely order the grilled scallops again. Presentation was beautiful and taste was even better. I was already planning another dinner to go back the next day. Service was very attentive. There is street parking and parking in the rear of the restaurant.
