As peruvian came with a lot of expectations, the food quality was amazing but the service was terrible. We just ordered 2 sets of acevichado sushi rolls and we only got one. They made us wait over 45 minutes for the second one to arrive. Has no sense to bring the same dish apart and make my partner wait because she was not going to eat without me. Terrible.
This place has one of the best menus on 2nd street! If you are looking for traditional sushi may not be the best bet but if you like more nobu style sushi this place is awesome.
An exceptional experience. We mainly enjoyed impeccably made rolls — creative, flavorful, and perfectly balanced — along with some well-executed appetizers. Every dish was fresh and harmonious. Attentive service and a pleasant atmosphere. A must-visit for fusion cuisine lovers: highly recommended!
Amazing experience! Freshly, tender, and melts in your mouth sushi.
This is an incredible sushi experience. Peruvian sushi is unique and stands out from the countless traditional high end Japanese sushi bars in LA. The ceviche, grilled scallops and seared fish sushi are some of the very memorable dishes Nikkei has to offer. This is a go-to for special occasions and by far the best sushi in Long Beach!
Delicious Peruvian sushi spot. Fresh food and tasty. The mochi ice cream was a treat. Service was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.
One of my top sushi spots in Long Beach!!! Very unique and delicious menu and the servers are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and kind.

We love the other location, and the quality of the fish at both locations is consistently great.
The primary disappointment on this trip was the tuna tacos. They are historically perfect and made beautifully fresh to order (in particular the crispy shells that melt in your moth).
These tacos were obviously prepared hours before serving, the quality of the chopped tuna was mediocre at best and the shells were almost soggy instead of crispy perfection. I wish I'd taken a picture, because even looking at them you know it would be a subpar experience.
The rest of the meal was great.

The service was good, but the sushi was not special.

I had high expectations for this place. However, when I got the sushi rolls, I was highly disappointed with the taste. The rolls had way too much sauce, and were insipid. The only good thing were the appetizers… they were super good (tacos and scallops)… but the specialty rolls were not that special… on the contrary they are HIGHLY NOT recommended.

Hands down one of the best and most unique sushi I ever experienced. The Peruvian influence is clear and it works well. The service was pleasant and attentive and the vibe was lively but not overly loud.
I recommend you order the sampler so you get to taste a little bit of everything. The outstanding one for me was the Parmesan Scallops but everything else was fantastic including the classics like unagi.
