My husband and I were in town visiting and decided to try out this place since it has the same name as our dog haha. Once we arrived there we found out the name changed to Arize Kitchen, but figured we’d try it anyway. Oh my goodness. I was so pleasantly surprised. I had the grits and eggs and it was SO TASTY. The spices they put in there were such a unique combination I’ve never tried before. Really cute homey atmosphere, and dog friendly on the patio! The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive. This is our new favorite spot in Long Beach.

Place is really neat. I love the decor. Server is really nice and accommodating. I like the free orange and lemon infused water. Food selection is great...all brunch items. They do accept cards. Having lunch with my boss. She ordered a spinach omelette with salad and biscuit. I ordered a chicken curry eggs Benedict. Super good! They do accept credit card. Salad dressing is amazing!!! I would come here again.

There is a HUGE difference between not being transparent about where some of your ingredients and staples are coming from and claiming another restaurants signature dish as your own. We all understand that restaurants rely on supplieres to make a menu that is why wholesalers like Sysco are used. Popeys is most certainly NOT a wholesaler. And not made to sell to other restaurant,. WITHOUT THEIR permission and with zwro credit on the menu. Also becausethey weren't made aware of someone reselling their food. You know it and they know it For example Marie Callander pies are not meant to be resold at another restaurants, without permission or a credit. It's different then a local small bakery who makes products for other restautaurants .. Can't believe they didn't sue.

On a recent visit to Long Beach I decided that I had a hankering for the new Popeye' Chicken Sandwich so I made my way over to SDK and to my dismay they hadn't updated their menu with the new offering. I asked the delightful server who stated that they weren't serving the sandwich and I was concerned. I contacted Popeye's corporate office who confirmed my suspicions. Shame on you, SDK.

Horrible food. Their biscuits are not made at the restaurant. They definitely come frozen. Mine was flat and cold, covered with extremely spicy gravy and pieces of dollar store sausages. My husband had chicken and waffles. Flavors just didn't go together and everything tasted as it was made by a school kid putting food in one pile. Just no no....And from the beer list they only had 2 beers ( it was over 10 on a list).

This is far overdue ...Wait is far too long for 2 plates. And I had a starving kid with me, so that was fun. Terribly rude service and a cash only place on top of that ? Never going back..

Cash Only Alert! While the food was definitely delicious and note worthy, most everything else missed the mark. The restuarant was hot, there was not enough silverware for everyone in our party at the table, and the menu was hard to read. While that all may seem knit picky, it added up to a 3 star experience. But back to the food. We both got the pork benedicts and they were delicious. The portion sizes were huge and flavor was rich. It hit the spot.

Born and raised in Texas and their menu reflects a ton of similiar dishes.

The food was good. Not the best I've had, but certainly above average. The staff is friendly and didn't rush me out after they closed up.

I didn't mind the Popeyes scandal. I didn't mind the closing early. What I did mind was the incredibly rude women that work here. First off, our lash visit was a couple months back but to start if off, a lumbering blonde white woman was extremely rude to us. We had been frequenting this establishment and we had some excellent service in the past. The young, extremely pleasant black fellow comes to mind as well as another blonde lady who wasn't as tall. I thiiink her name is Katee? However, the last time we came in, the blonde white girl refused to answer our questions about the wait and whether or not we would be able to be seated outside. She replied, "you get what is available or you can go somewhere else." We try to always be polite and both me and hubby have worked in the industry so I calmly asked to speak to the manager. Well, after a back and forth, she huffed off into the back (which is literally a few feet away). Yelling and profanities followed her departure. Soon (lady) Billy Idol comes out and tells us we can leave. When we try to speak, her voice just got louder and louder. Not wanting to be screamed at, we left and went to The Potholder. The service there was much more calm and respectful. When I found out this place was closing, I thanked go ::edit:: I found out Lady Billy Idol is the owner. I could snap a wafer, but I ain't tryin to fight no body.
