This review is in regards to my friend's on April 8, 2017. A Meetup group called the SoCal 20s & 30s Transplants met here which later became SoCal Transplants. His dining experience was exceptional because he was served by a beautiful blonde woman. His Meetup experience was another experience. He arrived at the location and waited for some time. After waiting, he asked the employee if a group was meeting. The person said there is a group meeting and the reservation is scheduled for 7:30 pm. If you viewed the Meetup page, it indicated 7:00 pm.

Just in case anyone is reading this... I loved this bar. The space was amazing. Cocktails were great. And the underground dance club was an awesome mix of people that really captured the diversity of Long Beach. I'm absolutely heartbroken that they had to close. I can't imaging investing all that time and money, only to be shuttered indefinitely with insufficient assistance. I'll always treasure my memories here.

He was told they had a reservation at 7:30 pm. He waited a total of 30 minutes.

Beautiful networking space and the service is always top notch. I've hosted a couple of networking events at this location and even went to their halloween party this year.

OMG this place ROCKS!!! Went and saw Michael Franti there last month and loved it! The flavored rums are to die for! Can't wait to go in and try the wonderful food I've heard about!

Food was ok but a little bland could have done with more spice. Chicken legs rather than breast meat if that bother's you.

Our ENTIRE parties food came out COLD we sent it back and was told it would be awhile...most of the food NEVER came back....2.5 hrs later we are STILL SITTING with no food!! We will not me back!
My friends and I greatly enjoyed spending our free time at your club. The place was clean, not crowded, and beautiful. Besides, the drinks that we ordered were OK and very good. Even the music played by the DJ was quite hilarious and fantastic. Next free time, we will come back. Thanks for the enjoyable experience!

Soooo... the federal bar... I've Been here a couple of times and it's always been great service. But! Megan's and Julio. (Bartender and bareback) Great freaking people. My drink was never empty without a standby (bottomless) Absolutely outstanding service. And it was humble. Rare to find. Definitely coming back. Without a doubt. All in all.. Federal bar.... great service!!!

My husband took me here on a date a few months ago, and we've been here several times since! All the times I've been here, we've been treated with nothing but friendliness from the waitstaff! Very accommodating when asking about dietary needs as well (was pregnant one of these visits and needed to make sure certain ingredients were pasteurized). As a side note, it's actually very hard to find restaurants where the wait staff is not annoyed by questions for pregnancy-related dietary restrictions. The Federal was not one of those - our waitstaff was always very kind! Anyways, on the outside, this place already stands out, looking like you're entering a fancy bank - is that what this place was before it was a restaurant? When you enter the restaurant, it's as if you've been transported to flapper era, amidst the music, the large mural on the back wall, the decor of the historic building itself, and the bar on your right side as you enter. Everything is absolutely breathtaking! Tip: if you're an art or literary buff such as myself, ask for the handout that explains the mural on the background! I love it when restaurants provide you with things to read as you wait for your food! Cocktails here are a must and are beautifully and deliciously made. Best appetizer? That's a hard choice between the Mac 'n Cheese with Short Ribs/Egg or the Mexican Street Corn Flatbread. Best Main course? Definitely the OMH (Oh My Habanero) Most interesting item? The Red Velvet Chicken & Waffles I can't wait to come back here soon! I just realized this place has brunch too which I definitely need to try!!
