The food was really good the first time I was able to eat here, but the second time was sub-par. The server seemed a bit on the grumpy side, and when we were leaving, we said thank you, and she didn't say anything and just stared at us. Was the $10 tip not enough? My main gripe is the hours and days of operation. How do you expect to have a successful business if you're only open for four days a week with odd hours of 10-3? This why I said from the start, "I was able to eat here," because every time I have tried, they're closed. I suggest giving this place a try if you can catch their days/hours open.
I had a sandwich with mushrooms in it… Didn’t really like it to be honest. The place was cool, I liked the open feel to it. Probably will be back to give it another go if I’m in the area.
Food was delicious, my sandwich was super flavorful and coffee was great. Service and atmosphere were lovely.
Thank you so much!!!

My food was so good. They do a nice service, I felt comforted and welcome. Also the location is cool. One point negativ is the price, it's a bit expensive (I paid 50$). Nevertheless I will go back when I find myself in Long beach again😉 The portions are big, for me they could do a little smaller and therefor 2 or 3$ cheaper... Amazing food with wonderful customer service to match! I had arrived from Garoua and stopped by with my family for brunch. Vegan food should always be this delicious! The cook, Alfredo our waiter and just team overall were so attentive, charismatic and made our visit amazing. We ordered so much food because it just sooooo delicious. Thank you - highly recommend!!!!!
I love wild chive! Everytime I find myself in LA, I make the trek out to long beach to make sure I can fit in a brunch at wild chive. My go to is certainly their Vietnamese iced coffee (WHICH IS REALLY STRONG), their Yukon potatoes, and a delicious vegan monte cristo. The prices are very much reasonable given the quality, portions, and location of the restaurant as well. Please go support them ASAP so they don't risk closing down!

This place has my sympathy.
While decent iterations of classic dishes are showcased, the actual consumption of them felt like a punch that comes at you with full force only to gently love tap you once it reaches you.
This attempt at a slice of safety for people of unfortunately targeted demographics is admirable, noble, and necessary, but it doubles as the bars of it's own very cage. This place is not for everyone, maybe that was part of their initial agenda and that's fine.
I'd love to see this place realize that it has wings and actually use them in the near future.

Uncomfortable atmosphere. Signs near the register at the back of the restaurant made me uncomfortable. You decide. Updated from previous review on 2024-10-16
Super nice place with great food and excellent staff. My husband, a serious vegan skeptic, rated the food as 'excellent to outstanding" ... 'nuf said.
Vegetarian options: Menu is ALL vegan.

Gotta try their INCREDIBLE french toast! Their tofu scrambles are delicious too. Great ambience & service. Surely one of the best vegan restaurants in the LA area, if not THE best.

Loved the food from wild chive. Tried their breakfast items and crepe. Both were very delicious. Also had their drip coffee.
