Amazing vegan spot! Staff was super friendly and the space is very inviting. We were visiting from out of town and were lucky to stumble upon this spot. The shroom melt was phenomenal.
It looks like it would be an excellent eating experience when you come in: the cooks are behind a glassed in kitchen, and look fully staffed. On a Sunday morning, any other breakfast restaurant would be packed; this place? Not so much. Dog friendly, even inside the restaurant instead of just the patio. Horrible coffee, that was lukewarm when it got to the table. It's a vegan restaurant, so you're keeping that in constant mind as you use the oatmilk creamer and stevia packets and brown sugar for sweetener. The pancake was okay, and I hear their sandwiches are good. They make a faux scrambled egg dish with tofu that is mildly seasoned. I hope they can survive, but it'll be by revamping their menu.
Everything was clean, including the restrooms.
Casual, fun with great music.
I’ve tried to support this place but they seem to not want my business. Drove 45 minutes here twice. Once they were closed on their regular business day, without any post on social media or anything. Just a sign on the door saying that there was a private event. Second time they “ran out of food” and only could only accept orders from reservations . The staff was not empathetic nor cared. I wish them the best as I know that the climate for restaurants, especially vegan restaurants, are difficult right now. But I will longer be attempting to make it down there try their food.
The food was really good the first time I was able to eat here, but the second time was sub-par. The server seemed a bit on the grumpy side, and when we were leaving, we said thank you, and she didn't say anything and just stared at us. Was the $10 tip not enough? My main gripe is the hours and days of operation. How do you expect to have a successful business if you're only open for four days a week with odd hours of 10-3? This why I said from the start, "I was able to eat here," because every time I have tried, they're closed. I suggest giving this place a try if you can catch their days/hours open.
I had a sandwich with mushrooms in it… Didn’t really like it to be honest. The place was cool, I liked the open feel to it. Probably will be back to give it another go if I’m in the area.
Edited March 16: I love their food like crazy, but they are open 4 days a week for about 4 hours a day and they stopped doing takeout for a while. I don't know how to support a restaurant that I can't buy food from 😭

The stuffed French toast. I've had it about 7 times now and there's nothing quite like it. GF version with thick corn waffles is also a good flavor. Presentation for takeout is always on point, employees are always nice.
Came for the first time to try. Bad customer service.
Awesome chill vibe, great food and fantastic staff... we especially appreciated Wally, who overheard it was my daughter's birthday and provided a sweet and thoughtful little celebration... Thank you

The food is delicious but it is never open! This makes the third time I’ve driven here only for it to be closed. I will not be making this long drive again.
Food was delicious, my sandwich was super flavorful and coffee was great. Service and atmosphere were lovely.
Thank you so much!!!

My food was so good. They do a nice service, I felt comforted and welcome. Also the location is cool. One point negativ is the price, it's a bit expensive (I paid 50$). Nevertheless I will go back when I find myself in Long beach again😉 The portions are big, for me they could do a little smaller and therefor 2 or 3$ cheaper... Amazing food with wonderful customer service to match! I had arrived from Garoua and stopped by with my family for brunch. Vegan food should always be this delicious! The cook, Alfredo our waiter and just team overall were so attentive, charismatic and made our visit amazing. We ordered so much food because it just sooooo delicious. Thank you - highly recommend!!!!!
I love wild chive! Everytime I find myself in LA, I make the trek out to long beach to make sure I can fit in a brunch at wild chive. My go to is certainly their Vietnamese iced coffee (WHICH IS REALLY STRONG), their Yukon potatoes, and a delicious vegan monte cristo. The prices are very much reasonable given the quality, portions, and location of the restaurant as well. Please go support them ASAP so they don't risk closing down!
