I’ve been in Long Beach for sometime now. 3636 has been good to me. Was there over the weekend, Greeted with a smile.Music went from Queen, to Hard Rock to R&B to Rap. Juke Box!Neighborhood Crowd, people chatting up, spending time with friends or family.Slick, perhaps Polyester Pool Table covering. Not like Felt. I like. I’ve heard some Great Players drop by from time to time. I ran into 2, I’m decent.

I met this Amazing Frency guy here, was a kick butt sailor and explorer heart. A big heart who just loves his daughter Lillian. Works for a big French boat mfg! Maybe be he will come back here again?????

I went and experienced what I grew up in the Deep South…straight racist bigotry, which has no place in 2024!! This white waitress ruined a good evening not for me but my date. I refused to be intimidated or belittled by anyone. If you are a person with any pigment in your skin, just pick another bar in Long Beach…you’ll Thank me later!

Fun little dive bar. Everyone super friendly, bartender was great. Great vibe all around. One of the better dive bars in Long Beach

I had the same experience as other people seem to have had. Katie, I think her name was, the slim lady with the blond hair was racist towards me. She seemed drunk and became very hostile and rude making racial slurs. For no apparent reason as my friend and I were minding our own business and just trying to order. It was a very negative experience and not one I have ever experienced in any other bar. Especially, in Long Beach which is supposed be a safe place for women of color. I will never go back.

The tall guy bartender is always really nice and attentive. It's really the people that come in here late. A dredge of Long Beach.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a bar. My wife and I walked in to the bar and we were treated with absolute disrespect. We felt uncomfortable the atmosphere was awful. I'm not sure if the older lady at the bar was racist or if she was just having a bad day. The crowd is older not diverse and the bar tender was just out right rude. Will never return. Honestly don't know how they are still even in business. We walked out to laughs and I even heard the bar tender say " good choice". Smh. Don't waste your time at this bar.

Came here with some friends on a Wednesday night, it started off nice as we wanted a laid back bar to settle down at for the night. However, the bartender and the type of people there like to talk behind your back out of nowhere. One instance included me telling my friend who usually pays with card that they're cash only and that we could use the atm and someone from across the bar said something along the lines of "oooh they're cash only oh nooo" and the bartender cracked a smile with them. Am I not allowed to inform my friends so you don't have to repeat the cash only stuff to them?? I was making small talk with the bartender when we walked in and got the impressions that he was a cool guy, I was already preparing my tip for him but all of that went out the window when I bought another beer and the interactions played out as such after he gave me my change: Bartender: Oh thank you. / Me: Oh yea thanks man! / bartender then waited for me to turn my back to him and says "I was being sarcastic." After that I realized that the guy was saying that because I didn't tip him but I was planning on giving him a nice tip before we left! If you want a tip that bad then you can't act like that, your loss man. So my friends and I left early without tipping because of the bartender's and patron's (supported) crappy behavior. Bartender with a blonde ugly man bun and a flannel that he probably wears 4 times a week btw. So many other bars in the area that treat their customers much better and earn their tip rather than allowing people to loudly talk crap about other customers and laugh with them and STILL expect a tip after. First and last time there, can't help but consider the thought that I would've been treated better if I was caucasian like everyone else in there and all the guys the bartender was laughing with, but that's just me. After reading some reviews too, definitely seems like the place hires the bartenders that no other places want. Definitely come here if you're the type of person to be in your mid 40's and still think/talk/act ignorantly like you haven't grown up past high school and have nothing better to do other than to go to the bar just to drink and create entertainment by talking crap about other people instead of knowing how to actually have fun and have a real personality. You can tell a lot about a place just by their regulars, let alone the bartender. Pool tables were nice tho, although sometimes it doesn't fully dispense the billiard balls as they hit each other on the way out and pushes a ball or two back in and out of reach.

Went to Undergrad and law school while living in L.B. 36/36 made life better. Beats all the places in The Shore, if you are a local. Then, lived at the beach....but I still drove over to the good 'Ole 36/36 for many years. Always like a big family. 30 years later now, and the only things I miss about SoCal are the 36/36 and the Angels. Still, every time we go home for a few days, I am happiest when I can slip unnoticed into this little piece of heaven for a few hours. Never change! Please!!

Went in on 3/17. The lady serving was a prima Donna. You serve alcohol, you’re not saving lives. Get a life.

My husband and I had some time to kill while waiting for his car to be serviced. We decided to stop in for a drink. There are 2 pool tables available for their customers. We ordered our drinks from the bartender who was VERY nice. There was even pizza that someone ordered for the bar patrons which was very kind. We played a few games of pool and had a great time here. thanks!
