I picked up some lunch for my finance and I a couple weeks ago. The customer service was fine. They have you roder on the screen when you come in instead to telling them what you want. There's were homeless everywhere around this location which made me feel a little uncomfortable. I'm sorry but neither my finance nor I cared at all for food. Two stars for the gentleman in the store working since he was nice.

Coming from Japan. This hits the spot.

Beyond disgusting. The food was super greasy and undercooked. Would not recommend. Popeyes is just up the street

Went to Torisho and ordered the advertised "Most Popular Item" which is the Chicken Nanban and I could see why. This whole plate was delicious. ++The location and the venue was very clean and well organized. +There's some space to sit down and wait for your order in the customer area. +You won't miss the signs for the resturant! But you might miss the opportunity to get into the parking lot if you aren't paying attention. Nearby it are a smoke shop and a street apparel store. That means what that means. Order ahead on your way in. I enjoyed walking in and hearing classic Japanese City Pop too! The funky disco flavor that that genre of music really put me at home. The gentleman working behind the counter was friendly and informative about the food as it was my first time in. After talking with him I learned it was his business and was very pleased with the experience overall I'm definitely going back

I love the chicken nanban so much. In all its forms. The bento meal is such a steal. Glad this place is around.

Rating: 1.5 What a disappointment this place was... it took so long for me to do this review because thinking about this horrid experience is DRAINING.Came here for their Boneless thigh combo and it was a total waste of money!First there was only (1) person working PERIOD. The guy was the cashier, greeter and cook! I should've walked out the door when I realized this but it was already too late I had paid once I learned he was every job there!I was concerned because I didn't know how sanitary this was to have the same person being a cashier also cooking food. I guess it's not the guys fault they definitely need more help at this place!I waited for the cashier, greeter and NOW cook to finish cooking my food - it looked good until I got it to work and saw some pieces of chicken were pink (uncooked). -- 0/10The fries were decent -- 6/10 ...but I was totally turned off and just disgusted by the CHICKEN! I got a can of the Japanese Green Tea with my meal -- 0/10 ...and wished I had seen sooner that it was flavorless. If I had known I wouldn't have gotten it.So disappointed and the food was so overpriced - almost $20 for uncooked food.... NEVER AGAIN and I DO NOT recommend.

Super disappointed! I opened the container and the chicken was soggy, like coating falling off soggy. I'd been looking forward to this place all week and it's not crispy. The miso soup is a little light, I've had better take out miso soup. The inside of Torisho also wasn't the most welcoming, with a dark ambiance and overall not great feeling. I expect crispy chicken for this much money. Won't be back again unless there ain't nothin else around for miles

Hands down the best fries chicken in Long Beach and the BEST french fries. They are never soggy and always well salted. The chicken has come along way since opening and I love to get those juicy thighs. Japan and the South are tied for chicken fried deliciousness. So get some anime going and order some karaage and fries immediately.

My husband and I have a nickname for this place ("Torish-OH-NO") because we could barely eat their food. The chicken was super greasy and fatty, and the seasoning didn't taste unique or authentically Japanese. We had hesitations about ordering in person because there were several unhoused individuals loitering near the entrance, which is sadly very common for the area this spot is in. I was determined to overlook that so I could support a local business. Unfortunately, the only thing we enjoyed was the fries. And that's not enough to warrant a return trip.

food tastes great but it's kinda expensive for what it is. I'm glad I tried it and I might be back. chill little outside area to eat but it's not in the best area. otherwise it's a pretty cool place.

If you're a big fan of japanese fried chicken (karaage), make sure to add this spot to your list to try. They are branded as award winning fried chicken so I was very curious to see if it lives up to its name. While I don't think it's the best that I've had, I'd still say it's worth trying. I would recommend calling and picking up your order because they don't have any indoor seating. They have a table or two outside, but the surrounding area is not really the best. My friend and I did not feel comfortable sitting outside eating so we quickly finished our food and left. || L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G ||-Cross Streets are Long Beach Blvd and E La Reina Way.-Small parking lot shared with a smoke shop and other mom and pop shops. Does not share parking lot with the Carls Jr. next to it so those parking spots are solely for Carls Jr. customers|| F O O D ||Chicken Thigh (dark) Bento Box - It comes with (5) pieces of fried chicken, a scoop of rice, cabbage salad and potato salad on the side. I did notice their chicken is pricier than their competitor's (starting with a "T") so I was hoping it would be worth it. The chicken was fried fresh and the chunks were generously sized, but I still think the batter is not as good as their competitor's.

Great karaage, generous portions, tasty, juicy. Loved it!

The good:I got the 8 piece thigh bento (add $5) and a side salad with macaroni. The thigh bento is advertised as their most popular entree. I like that the meat used in the chicken was brown meat and was tender inside. It wasn't dry. My 18 month old even ate some. I liked that the batter wasn't too thick (where the shell falls off) and the macaroni salad was tangy and yummy. It took about 10-15 minutes for my order to be ready because they fry to order. The bad:There's a table inside with two chairs but it doesn't look like a spot to dine-in. Outside, there are two tables but it's near a big busy street and also doesn't look the most welcoming for dining in. This place is better for takeout. I didn't care for the soy sauce-like dressing for the salad. It wasn't very interesting and tasted like the dip you use for tempura. Dips for chicken were $1 or more for each. It doesn't come with any dips and the chicken isn't seasoned with extra spices or anything. The 8 pieces weren't 8 thighs. They were just pieces (as advertised) so some of the pieces were quite small. The interesting:You self-order on a kiosk.
