Food looked like you were taking home leftovers in a very small box . Not happy at all won’t be back you need to get a real chef that can cook for what you’re charging customers.

My main complaint is the service. This restaurant just isn’t welcoming at all. It honestly felt like they didn’t even want to serve us. Even my 8 year old son suggested we go somewhere else, but I stayed because a friend had recommended it.
The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. Definitely not good enough for me to come back.
On the positive side, the place was clean and had a nice atmosphere. But in the end, service is everything. If you don’t feel welcome, trust me, you won’t enjoy the food.

We were tried Wood & Salt Tavern, centrally located in Bixby Knolls. The service was great, the food superb and hubby said his Old Fashion was the best he’s had in quite some time. He had the chicken Parmesan with burrata and I had the fettuccine with clams. Both dishes with homemade fresh pasta. The portions were perfect for us and I saw that some dishes can be ordered in appetizer size. We had the calamari appetizer with fresh pesto and spicy marinara. Delicious! Highly recommend.

Good food with the right portion. Also good service. Family friendly environment. Will definitely come back again
Fresh! Fresh pasta. Fresh ingredients. Lovely fusion of flavors. Yummy fresh cocktails, not too sweet. Server was great and checked on us often. Nice atmosphere.

Today was my second visit to Wood & Salt. The food and service is outstanding. All the dishes we ordered were flavorful. Always wonderful to find a hidden gem like Wood and Salt. Dog friendly on their outside patio too!

Wood & Salt Tavern in Long Beach was such a pleasant surprise — the kind of place that instantly puts you at ease. From the moment we walked in, Gabriel greeted us with the warmest welcome and let us choose any seat we liked. No pushiness, no upsell — just that perfect, low-key hospitality that makes you want to stay a while.
I ordered the grilled Caesar with chicken breast, and it was spot on. The greens were crisp, the dressing had just the right bite, and the chicken was tender and flavorful with a beautiful char. My husband went for the paccheri with spicy mushroom sauce and added chicken — comforting, rich, and just enough heat to make it interesting without being overpowering.
The vibe? Rustic, warm, and clean — think reclaimed wood, soft lighting, and little European touches that make you feel like you’ve wandered into a cozy tavern tucked into a stylish neighborhood in Paris or Barcelona. It’s elevated but never pretentious.
Honestly, it’s the kind of place you want to keep to yourself… but also can’t stop telling people about.

Great food in moderate portions and a bit pricey but VERY GOOD.
Cool creative cocktails but not on the cheap. Smallish drinks for ~$16-18 but again very good.
Expect 120 for 2 but excellent food

The food and dribla we’re delicious!
Excellent service. Food was cooked and presented perfectly. Drinks were great! Great spot to hang with friends.
We got there shortly after 5pm opening and were the first ones. Great service. Delicious food. Overall excellent experience. I'm unaware if there is parking in back but the curb was full and we had to park down the street
Our server, Luis and company were great. Polite, welcoming, and on top of our orders. My family and I love coming here. Great for breakfast, brunch, or drinks. We come here often and the food always hits the spot.
Service was great and the food was even better. I spotted this place walking the neighborhood. So I looked up their menu. Best decision I made. The host was very welcoming and the waitress was great. I had the whiskey braised short rib. DELICIOUS!! The braised short rib is what peeked my interest and it didn't disappoint. The hostess mentioned they had really great mocktails. He told the truth! It was a perfect pairing with my meal. I will definitely be returning.
