I used to like going to Amber for lunch buffets when the food was great, price made sense, and staff was pleasant. During my last few visits, I have not been impressed by any of these attributes. Unlikely that I will go there again for buffet lunch. Perhaps I may give them a try for a la carte Dinner to see if that changes my opinion about this restaurant.

I was a fan, and used to recommend Amber to people wide and far.No more. It’s not the Amber I remember from years ago.The paneer used to have a mild kalaunji taste. This time it was just a mush of oily gravy with no distinct taste. It’s something most could make at home. The chicken curry also had a similar gravy. All gravies had so much oil we had to spill it off then absorb the rest.Perhaps the chef has changed. But then only the styles should have changed, not the quality.I hope it was a one time hiccup and they find their soul back because it was flavorful.

HAIR on the food!! ( rude server ) I went to Amber india, Los Altos on weekend buffet and it was a very bad experience. I never gave any bad review even though i don't like food but this is different.I found hair in the chats and I politely complained to server that I already read one of the review about this issue and it is repeating again. Instead of convincing me that it was a mistake he replied very rudely that it is the open place and these things will happen in buffet. He just replace the items and rudely said that the hair must be fell from some customer. But I took the hair from inside so how come it fell from other customers and also I am pretty sure that they just loaded with fresh ones a minute back and I was the first or second one to take.I agree that mistakes can happens but the way they are treating customers who complained is very bad. I observed that they are treating Americans nicely than us but everyone is paying the same money to eat. I wouldn’t have write this review if they would have handled this issue lil bit politely. The buffet is also not great rice is not cooked properly and only one starter and no biryani. $27 per person is waste for this kinda food and service.

This place is the best for Indian food. We recently moved to Paso Robles where there is no Indian food and I was so happy to stop by here on this trip up to the Bay Area. Food is delicious and there are items on the menu you don’t see on every Indian menu, so we tried some new dishes (paneer pasanda) and our tried and true favorites (aloo gobi) delivered as expected. I am surprised this place has only 4 stars, food is amazing every time.Vegetarian options: Great variety for vegetarians

Don't normally eat Indian food, so I had to just wing it. Got the roasted leg of lamb and damn it was good.

Trashy. They removed a very detailed low review I put a while back so I’m writing a new one. The food was not good. The people that go there will look at you weird for not knowing where things are. Overall spent 60-70$ on 3 things for myself. Super expensive and not worth it.

HAIR ALERT!! Everything was perfect except the food. We went for lunch buffet. We had two encounter of hair in the food. First was in their bhel puri and the second one was in the gravy. For the first one the server took away the plate after showing him the hair in bhel puri. When the second time this happened the manager came and mentioned that all the cook wear a hair cap and it was mostly some customer’s hair that ended up in main pot from where I took the gravy. Beauty is all the dishes of Amber are shielded with a glass screen and the chances of hair falling from a customer’s head is next to impossible.

Very average food, plates and utensils are very old, felt like they were not cleaned. Washroom is quite dirty.

This is for Amber india Milpitas locationAll the food items prepared by Head chef Shiv were on point and mouth watering, good portion size, decent ambiance( can use work, if they want this location to thrive for dine-in), and absolutely a great value value for the buck! For reference I Have had palak chat at Ettan, and I liked Amber's palak chat way better than Ettan ( portion size, flavors and the $$ ). The tandoori chicken was sizzling and delish! I went there for butter chicken and it came out to be as I wished for.The server Venkatesh was very pleasant and took great care of our party. Definitely coming back for the yummy food. Thank you!
