We were a group of 7 and everyone enjoyed their meals. We ordered lamb, trout, lasagna, pork chop Milanese, and other small plates and salads. James was a wonderful host and took excellent care of our group.
Interesting food, generally good but oddly inconsistent. The trout with kale was weird -- a small dry piece of trout on a bed of tasteless kale. The duck was generous and good but short on accompaniments. The scallop dish with rice was great, as was the seabass special. No bread was offered -- that seems to be the norm these days when you have to pay for everything. Desserts were very good. Wine list OK, generally pricey with goog (but not great) whites at 75-100. Reds much higher. The markup here is probably 3x. Why do restaurants want to make excessive profits on wine -- makes little sense to me. Why penalize people who like wine with their food, when some folks don't drink at all?
The lamb shank was excellent! Best I have ever tasted. The meatballs crazy good! I can't wait to go back.
Food was very good , the waiter was nice but very busy which delayed us getting our drinks. Overal cost for our experience was expensive for that price we feel the service should have been perfect. This won't stop us from coming back.
Roja is just an incredible experience. The service is excellent and the food is out of this world. I had the duck which is my go to when I visit. My friend had the smashed pork chop which I will probably get next time I visit. It is a bit noisy inside so we sat out on the patio under a heater. Had a great time!
Food was good, service was great-ambience was also very nice. Well done evening-will return! gay krause
Roja is one of our absolute favorite downtown Los Altos restaurants. Food, service and ambience are all excellent and thankfully, very consistent.
Food is excellent, perfect portion sizes, Great cocktails, Service was excellent ! Prices are good too! Great vibe
One of the best experiences dining I have ever had. James and his team were charismatic and engaging. The food was absolutely incredible and we both were completely wowed on our experience. We tried some new seafood items that we previously would not be open to, they were delicious. We cannot wait to go back. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Wow! LOVE Roja! Absolutely delicious food. Started with the Lloyd wine, some oysters and savory meatballs. For the main dish, I had the trout and my husband had the halibut special over an heirloom tomato and caper spread. Both were flavorful and we would order again. John, our server, was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Can't wait to go back!

We went for an anniversary dinner never having been here before. We were super happy with the food and service. It was a really wonderful experience and hope to return soon!
Surely the best restaurant in Los Altos. James is a terrific host and the food is well done.
Lovely venue. Food we ordered was all delicious. Menu is rather limited, only 3 pasta & 3 main courses. But excellent service & really good food!
The food was top class. I had the chicken which was perfectly flavored & cooked. My husband had the duck and it was fabulous. Very nice staff and a beautiful dining room.
Absolutely lovely! Juan our server was very attentive and did an amazing job pacing our meal so we weren't crowded with too many plates at the same time and could do justice to each of the absolutely delectable dishes! Juanito at the bar was a magician who concocted a spicy gimlet that was just phenomenal. Can't wait to go back!
