I selected this restaurant thinking it was another restaurant I'd loved in Los Altos. Unfortunately this was neither that restaurant nor was this place anything memorable or special. In fact, I was shocked by how tasteless and unimaginative my dishes were - and my friend agreed. We both had the spinach and potato soup - expecting something hearty and delicious - and instead got something green but about as thin and tasteless as unsalted consummé. For the main, I got a salad that barely had any dressing (ergo also flavorless) and there were no options for adding proteins to the salads. The service was curt and robotic.

A little touch of Heaven at Centrella. From being welcomed to my seat to the elegant dishes that were both joyful to the palate as well as the eyes, I recommend this restaurant. The kale salad and burrata salad were divine. The texture and presentation as well as the fine olive oil and perfect seasoning was impressive. The prawns were mouth watering. The eggplant rollatini was a vegetarian's dream. The owner of the restaurant made us feel like Oscar night winners. I can't wait to return and enjoy more of the menu and the atmosphere.

The cocktails are off, sorry, but this is not how cocktails should be made.
Very noisy, but maybe it was because of specific noisy group.

The food was tasty and they gave a complimentary dessert for the person celebrating a birthday in our party. Service was excellent.
Lovely dinner with our friends. We could talk and hear one another. Will definitely go there again.
Our first time eating here and I was confused at first not knowing that the restaurant had a new location. We started with the fritto misto and then the squid ink pasta and the branzino finishing off with panna cotta. The fritto misto was good but more evenly sized pieces would have helped. The main courses were both very well executed with the octopus cooked perfectly with the pasta and branzino crisp on the outside and tender inside. I suspect that the restaurant could be noisy when more full.
The atmosphere is quite underwhelming (not stylish, too bright, unattractive tables), and the service was only fine, but the food was excellent! Cauliflower soup, kale salad, squid ink spaghetti with prawns, and branzino were all delicious.
From the moment we walked in, the manager/owner (I’m not sure which) made repeated comments toward the woman I was dining with, such as “you’re so beautiful,” said directly in front of me. At first I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assumed he was just being overly friendly.
However, throughout the meal he continued staring at her in a way that made us uncomfortable. When I briefly stepped away to use the restroom, he approached her while she was alone at the table, tapped her on the shoulder, and told her “you’re so cute.”
This crossed a line. She is 18 years old, and this man appeared to be well over 50. Regardless of intent, this behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional, especially toward a young customer who was clearly dining with someone else.
To make matters more awkward, he then sent us a free dessert, which felt less like hospitality and more like an attempt to smooth over behavior that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
What should have been a normal dining experience ended up feeling uncomfortable and unsettling. I would not return, and I hope management seriously reflects on appropriate boundaries with customers.

We split the kale salad. I had the branzino. So light and flaky. My husband had the Mezze Rigatoni which is better than most Italian restaurants. Delicious and so flavorful. The entire staff are attentive and friendly. The owner is welcoming and fun to joke around with. We look forward to our next meal

We start the evening at The Grotto, speakeasy located under Cetrella. High quality craft cocktails, very cool ambiance. Perfect for 1:1 or group gatherings. Dinner at Cetrella constantly excellent with interesting flavors starters to mains. Our fav, gem as well as kale salad to start and branzino for main. Also had short ribs, pasta and ribeye. All excellent.
I love Cetrella - I was a massive fan of the Half Moon Bay Location and Los Altos. I like the new location better than the old one in Los Altos - it's a tucked-away, charming grotto with a. speakeasy in the basement. The food has always been superb - I had the kale salad (one of my favorites) and the short rib - both were amazing. The owner is one of the nicest people and a great host - it makes a huge difference having him in the restaurant. Five Stars!
