Everything I've tried at Mantesa is so well-made. I had the ham and cheese croissant which is buttery and flaky with the right amount of sauce, cheese, and meat. The pistachio lemon olive oil bread is delicious. I also enjoyed the chocolate chip and walnut cookie made with wheat flour.

I came here early in the morning with high expectations, but the experience was awful. The female server took the pastries I ordered straight from the display tray and placed them directly on the counter — which was clearly dirty. Then she asked me if I wanted a bag. Honestly, what kind of question is that? Without a bag, was I supposed to carry several pastries in my hands?
What made it worse was seeing the very next customer being served differently — she immediately took out a paper bag and placed the pastries inside with tongs.
The double standard was obvious. As an Asian customer, I felt disrespected and very unwelcome here.

Really disappointed by the use of plastic. There's no reason to put bakery goods in a plastic clamshell when a small paper bag is fine. Please reduce your use of plastic! The bread is good but the waste is bad.
Good coffe , great pastries and bread. My go to is the quiche. The downside is that you have to warm it up yourself. Also tipping starts at 18% which is crazy, you can put in a custom tip but your order seems to come out in order of how much you tip. Despite that this is a solid place.

Update: just went and visited again. The pastries are so good and better than previously. Coffee is much tastier and the service was excellent . Happy to always order the Almond Escargot.

Got the levain round bread, a sort of wheat sourdough. It was excellent! Healthy ingredients, and hard crispy crust with soft spongy inside.
Great to have a real old-fashioned bakery in town serving the old-school recipes. Highly recommended.

A little more than a month ago I would have given them 5 stars but the quality has gone down since. Their chocolate croissants and kouign amanns are now half the size of they used to be, while the price is the same. Their regular croissants are still a decent enough size but visibly different than what they had before.

I absolutely love their food, breads & pastries. My 2 most favorite are their muffins; Especially the Carrot Walnut & the blueberry (Which is GF too!).
We really can’t get enough of the carrot walnut muffin.
But every single item I’ve tried at Manresa Bread is fantastic! I moved to Fresno 🙁, & so I stock up on everything when I visit!

Pastries are legendary. Service is fine. Nothing special. Coffee is subpar. If you’re going to charge $5+ for a cappuccino then you better know how to make it.
