This place is an outstanding night out. It's not something we do every week because it was about $50 pp with drinks but none-the-less, great service, food was outstanding and not pretentious at all. The owner came by our table to introduce himself and the entire staff was really accommodating. Will absolutely be going back!

Food was great. We ordered oysters, calamari, and grilled artichoke. My issue is with the service. We dined on a Wednesday evening and it was not busy. We got one round of drinks and wanted another but our server never came back. We had to flag down another staff member for a drink. Okay fine, but our server never came back to check on us and we had to ask 3 separate people to give us our check before we received it. We still tipped because we aren't jerks but honestly we shouldn't have.

A cute little restaurant with a good bar area. Service was a tad slow, but overall good. Food was tasty as well. They have ample outdoor seating when the weather is nice!

Out of several of the sparkling wines, pilsner beer, cilantro lime rice that was to go with the mahi mahi tacos and fresh fish. 6:00 reservations. Was not overly crowded. Long time between our appetizers and entree. Maybe dont go on a Monday night?

We loved the cioppino and the cheesy garlic bread. As usual, the crispy shrimp bites are fantastic. We are always seated right away for our reservations and everyone is extremely nice and efficient. Their outside seating area is roomy and fantastic.

We had a family gathering here after a family funeral and the service was fantastic. We had 22 ppl in our party and the service was on point. The appetizers were slamming, cerviche, oysters, shrimp... delicious! For my entree the crab and lobster linguini was divine. And the drinks were strong. Highly recommend when in Los Altos.Kid-friendliness: We had 4 younger ones and they were happy too

The service was friendly & attentive. The food and drink were delicious. Prices were reasonable. Parking was easy, but we arrived at an earlier 5pm hour also for dinner. It was quite busy and full by 6pm.

The place was nice enough in the inside when we went on to pick up our order. And the food was delicious and lived up to the prices. That said, we spent $200 on dinner for 6 to take to our elderly parents home nearby and when It asked if we could get a baguette like they serve at the table to take with us, the young girl at the front counter said she would have to charge us $11 for that because they don't serve bread with to-go orders. And then when I commented that this sounded unreasonable, she walked away without so much as a "thank you." We probably will not return. ?

We wanted a quiet dinner with a friend so we could catch-up. We were seated in a fairly quiet area. The menu contained an excellent variety of items and we all enjoyed our choices very much, especially the garlic cream sauce on the scallop pasta. Portion size was just right. The wine selection was well priced and our Chardonnay was perfect for our scallops and Jambalaya. Our server was cordial and actually remembered us from a visit several months ago. Although she misinterpreted which scallop dish selected (there were two) she immediately rectified it and we didn't need to wait long for it's replacement. My companions both enjoyed it thoroughly. I had the Jambalaya which was perfectly seasoned, but enough for two meals. The atmosphere at Rustic House is friendly, not rushed and considerate of our needs. We look forward to our next visit.

First try with a friend at Rustic House in Los Altos, on a busy evening [President day]- Since our table for 2 was at the far end of the restaurant, I was first nervous about being lost and forgotten among the crowd- Never less, we had a wonderful waitress who came - and came back regularly to check on us! I enjoyed the seared scallops plate and my friend opted for the -fresh- special fish on the menu, which she also liked- Overall: a good place in Los Altos if you like sea food.

Made a reservation - they were overwhelmed when we checked in and could not seat us - wait over 20 mins, similar to non booking guests. They ended up seating us in a back room for special events - we had to leave the restaurant and go in a back way in the rain and share a table with another - with no ambiance. It was like dining in a shed!

We had early Valentines dinner reservations at 4:30pm. Restaurant wasn't busy yet so we had attentive wait service. The Seafood Gumbo and Seared Scallops in Garlic and Pancetta was delicious. I've enjoyed coming to this restaurant during low peak hours, for quick and attentive service.
