Poor service. Staff seem untrained. Greasy table.

There are two tables in the restaurant that's right next to the door that leads to the bathrooms. Unfortunately, our table happened to be one of them and I felt like we were getting interrupted with people going in/out.
Good food. One of my fav take out place. Wish they have more tables though. Can be a bit crowded on Friday / weekends.

Love the beef tongue. IIRC It's not on the menu but you can order directly.
Also the tofu soup dish is very delicious. And most skewers I tried.
Super friendly staff. To save time, make sure you reserve a spot online (esp during the busy hours).

The service is really bad. I really think the quality of food and tasting is getting much worse than before.
Forgot our tables order, leaving one diner to not have food for 45 minutes while everyone else finished their meal. Checked with staff twice and Told us multiple times the food was being prepared. Overall, overpriced food with middle quality. Atmosphere is nice though!

I’ve been dining at this restaurant for several years, and it has never disappointed me.The food quality has remained consistently excellent, with every dish prepared fresh and full of flavor.
The service is just as friendly, attentive, and welcoming every time. It’s rare to find a place that maintains such high standards year after year, and I truly appreciate their commitment to both great food and warm hospitality.
This is a restaurant I can always count on, whether for a casual meal or a special occasion.

Hand rolls are fresh and delicious, vegetable tempura can be good but sometimes oil is dirt so color of tempura browner than usual which is not great and grilled meats good but not a lot of meat for price. I wish they gave more meat on skewers. Mostly enjoy this place.
I went with friends, and we got our table swiftly. The service was great, with the server coming to our table with water and taking our orders. Food quality was mediocre and not outstanding, with an amazing "woo" feel. Overall, the vibe is good and a great place for friends to gather if you prioritize food quality behind the vibs.
Great for bite-size food. Cozy vibe

Living in downtown Los Altos for more than twenty years ~ we welcomed Sumika as soon as it established a home here and have enjoyed high quality entrees just as much as we've experienced in Japan! Sumika has been one of our favorite Los Altos eateries for celebrations. Last night ~ we celebrated two birthdays with our favorite delicacies!
very good food. Large portions. For 2 people, we ordered 6 dishes. We probably could have ordered 4 and been just enough because I was so full! I like how the food comes out slowly so you can enjoy the food. The vegetable tempura was very generous portions, also the chicken karrage! Loved the eel omelette.

Many food we ordered are over burn, they needs to control the fire and timing better, or I may not go back there. Wish they would offer us to recook them but they did not.
