The best Al pastor I’ve had in the Bay Area! I’m from LA and miss the street tacos at every corner but this place definitely scratches that itch. They grill their burritos and fill them with the perfect amount of each ingredient. I keep coming back!

Been going there for a few - love it! Amazing food, some of the best tacos I have had in the peninsula. Would recommend.

The value for money is excellent, especially if you get the eight Taco plate. Beyond the value for money, every Taco I had was outstanding. These included: lengua, carnitas, al pastor, and cabeza.

Been coming here for over a year because it is the best Mexican food in Los Altos and it’s not even close. Period!!!! Equally happy and sad that it is gaining popularity. They deserve it- miles better than the other restaurants in downtown. The super burrito is unreal but the suadero tacos changed my life.

Best tacos in Los Altos! I had never seen brisket tacos before and it is a must have! Also love their chips and fresh salsa! My husband is a burrito connoisseur and says they have the best tacos he has ever had!

The best Mexican in Palo Alto is in Los Altos.

Carnitas are as delicious as you'd expect for a Michoacan place.

The Michoacán meals are a treat—fresh, flavorful, and authentic, with bold, traditional flavors. Portions are generous for a reasonable price.

Ordered El Pastor, no onions, both in English and Spanish. They served tacos, full of onions, when asked, they explained that El Pastore comes with onions. So they acknowledge we ordered them without. After explaining that I was allergic, they told me I could get other tacos without onions, but would have to pay for them. Then it took 30 minutes to get tacos made without onions.

The lemonade and tacos were really good. The sope was alright. It was kind of greasy/watery. There were barely any beans on it and they were kind of weird; I expected the usual refried. The shell was also charred too much and tasted burned. There were also flies which were annoying to deal with.

They are short on staff, the tables remain dirty for long periods of time, and there are flies.

We’ve been ordering from Tacos Al Vapor quite a bit over the last year, glad to have this option in Los Altos. Food has been generally very good and we’ve been happy customers, but but we found a screw in my wife’s beef cheek taco yesterday. Good thing she didn’t bite down on it too hard… she thought it was a bone but spat out a screw. I thought it’s okay, it happens no big deal, we bring her remaining tacos back to the store, at least so that they know and make sure their equipment is tightened up so it doesn’t happen to other people.
Went back to the store, told the cashier and immediately her response was “we don’t use this kind of screws”… she went to check with the kitchen, I assume the manager is manning the grill, I could see her body language was along the lines of “no way it happened here”. I’m thinking this is Los Altos, you think people would drive back in 95 degree heat just to scam your restaurant?!
Cashier was then nice about it, asked what we wanted and offered us a refund on 1 of the 3 combo deals we ordered. It was fine but the important part was that they were pretty dismissive and didn’t seem like they really cared about the potential damage this could have caused and general food safety. If my wife had chipped a tooth this would probably have turned ugly. Not sure if I’d go back.
