Comically overpriced. A teensy scoop on a mini cone will run you $7. It sure ain’t good enough ice cream for that kind of money.

It's in a little food court in downtown Los Altos. Decent selection, price is on the higher side. It is a creamery so the flavors are very rich. I couldn't afford to cone everyday but it was a well deserved treat.

I come here about once a week. the ice cream is solid and the staff are very kind and helpful but the facilities seem problematic- I’ve seen cockroaches inside on multiple occasions. It’s a shame because I do like this place, but it’s hard to feel comfortable continuing to come here knowing that management clearly pays such little attention to hygiene and safety — both for their customers and workers.

Bitter caramel flavor is the best!

Crazy prices for quite ordinary flavors. Salt n Straw has way more interesting flavors for less. I’d put ** but one extra star for the fresh waffle cones

Employee argued and put words in my mouth claiming I ordered something I didn’t. I was actually stumped of how rude he was. Definitely gave sweet ice cream a bitter aftertaste.

Penny Ice Creamery: A Sweet Disaster

My girlfriend and I were excited to try Penny Ice Creamery, but our experience was a complete letdown. We split a pint of mint ice cream and both ended up with severe food poisoning. The cream tasted off, and given that I drink raw milk daily, I'm convinced it was spoiled.

The pricing is outrageous at $7 per scoop, especially considering the mediocre quality. The ice cream itself lacks depth and complexity, tasting mostly of ice and sugar with a few scattered berries or mint leaves. It doesn't hold a candle to Tin Pot Creamery, which offers far superior flavors and textures.

The staff was unhelpful and couldn't provide any nutritional information beyond confirming their excessive sugar content – quite ironic for a place claiming to be "healthy" and "clean."
Penny Ice Creamery's only saving grace is its prime location, devoid of any real competition. However, its exorbitant prices, unhelpful staff, and subpar ice cream make it a regrettable choice. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially after our experience of paying a hefty price to get sick from their product.

First time here…sorry to say it was disappointing . A double scoop is almost $10, but the ice cream was tasteless! Mint chip…wasn’t!! Just cold and sweet?. Verve Coffee was a little better, but still off the mark if you were expecting something that tasted like coffee…more sugary sweet than like coffee!!

Ice Cream is usually not my thing but when there’s a twist on it I gotta try it out. Toasted Marshmallows on top of your ice cream is definitely something different.
The ice cream isn’t bad. The flavor I chose was butter toffee I believe with the toasted marshmallow on top. The combination of the ice cream with toasted marshmallow is top tier.
