Awon, located in LA's Koreatown, offers a delicious and fresh dining experience with a 30-year tradition. I ordered the Omakase Sushi Special and the Sashimi Dinner Set. Both were exceptional, with fresh ingredients and exquisite presentation. A must-visit spot for sushi lovers!

Nice place & good food. It’s def. a good spot if you’re on a lunch break. The service was very fast, there is a language barrier but that’s no problem. I rated it 4 stars because of the fast service & authenticity. The atmosphere lets you know it’s been part of town for a while - but it’s clean and that’s the most important. There’s also valet, so that’s was convenient.

This place has a unique food choice on Japanese cuisine in a Korean style. I tried the best seller large sashimi salad which was quite a Korean food. It has a lot of salad leaves and some sashimi. Then it’s to be mixed with rice and gochujang sauce. It’s fresh and quite good. The bento and eel rice are pretty good too. The food is pretty fusion though, not very Japanese. Parking is valet only, $3 if I remember correctly.

More korean than japanese, I tried to order more food but instead of food, they showed me the bill, haven't finished my food when she asked me for tip, waitress call cashier to force me to give them a tip, 4 times before I was done, had to leave bc they looked at me like I was stealing.

I always go to Eowon to eat raw fish, and it's always fresh and the service is good.

I went to eat when it was 93 degrees hot, but the temperature inside was 80 degrees. I asked the waitress to lower the temperature, and she said she didn't know how to do that. I showed her hair because it was coming out of the side dish, and she said she was sorry. Without a soul... I will never come again. I turned the air conditioner on high to save on electricity costs... I was sweating. The service needs to be improved first.

This restaurant is Japanese but owned and operated by Koreans in Koreatown. The food is good including the seafood sushi sashimi and other Korean dishes such as the hot spicy fish soup.
I like to go here with my family particularly my in-laws or with my mom. They seem to really like this place. I like the booth where you have a semi-private room.
If you go just before the dinner rush there's plenty of parking. The people here are really nice and do a very good job of making your dining experience very good.
They give you a lot of food so the value is there.
If you like Korean style sushi and sashimi with the spicy stew and the grilled fish and all the other side dishes at a reasonable price This is the place to go at in Koreatown.

Got there 20 minutes ahead of reservation. The lady behind the counter did not greet us or look up to say hello - instead yelled at a waitress with her face down to help us. Table wasn't ready but that's fine since we got there early. I had two toddlers with me but the waitress got us a table and left without offering any high chairs. Had to go find them myself. Waited at least 15 minutes but no one came to our table. Not coming back.
