I appreciate the owner’s reply, but he fails to alleviate my confusion comments. My review was more meant to get his attention regarding problems during my visit.
- I had come in from my ophthalmologist who had dilated my eyes. Hence, I could only look down and barely read the printed menu with the two ladies working at the counter helping me. Not knowing what to choose, I said I like Omelets, and Shashuska listed under Omelets on the PRINTED Menu sounded good with Roasted Eggplants, Red Bell Peppers and Tomato.
I was disappointed that I got a dish that looked like a thick smooth soup, with no visible vegetables.
The proud owner justified his menu, telling me the picture on the TV menu was correct. Hey, what TV Menu?? I could not see and did not see any TV, only the printed menu on the counter. Anyway, I just wanted to let the business know this Turkish Specialty should not be listed under Omelets. I was not criticizing this Turkish specialty.
- Next, on the incorrect price I was charged, the owner acknowledged the error, but tells me to come in and get my dollar back. Wouldn’t it be simpler to credit my credit card back as a customer care goodwill gesture? I came from UCLA, so I do not live near Agora.
- Frankly, I think it is odd that Agora’s payment registers charge different prices than the printed menu shows. Until someone like me compares the receipt with the printed menu, are customers routinely paying above the printed menu prices?
I ordered SHAKSHUKA from the counter menu with the owner helping me, based on this dish that was listed under OMELET, described as “Prepared with roasted eggplants, red peppers and tomato. Includes assorted spices. Topped with poached eggs. I waited 15 min, thinking my dish was being freshly prepared.
What I took home looked like a thick tomato soup, with none of the vegetables listed, & 2 well done poached eggs. I called the cafe, but the counter young lady was rude, telling me I cannot see the vegetables. When I said this was listed under Omelet, but it looks like a thick tomato soup, & should not listed under Omelet. She said it’s the manager/owner’s problem, and hung up on me!!
At first sight, I thought it was a nice little Turkish Middle Eastern café to stop by after my doctor’s visit, and I told them I would be back again, but after this rude experience I cannot see myself returning or recommending it to anyone. Back home checking my receipt, I also realized that I was charged $1 more than the counter printed menu of $15.9.
$16.90 for a plain small bowl of thick tomato saucy dish? Way overpriced for what looks like a couple of ladleful servings from a soup pot with none of the menu described vegetables whatsoever.
I wonder why it took them at least 15 min to give me my order.
All SO disappointing, especially the RUDE answers when I called the cafe to inquire.

Beautiful atmosphere due to bright sunlight… great food and they even have travel books for browsing. What more could you ask for?!? I had the bread pudding and matcha latte after chicken gyro combo plate which was Turkish style and very delicious. Made a note to myself to go back… I wanted to buy one of their travel books, but those are not for sale. Though they do have a great selection of international grocery items such as teas, butter, frozen pre-made ingredients! So many great things to try.

Good market
I really like this place; however, one of the desserts I got had a hair on it, which was the last thing I wanted to see. I know things like that can happen, but I am very sensitive about this, and since it was to-go, I could not mention it. Other than that, they have tasty food options. It’s a cute place for a quick bite. The staff was so nice! Parking was easy!

This place is extremely expensive; the products that are available in different Turkish stores are twice the price here. I won’t list the products one by one now, but as a simple example, yogurt is twice the normal price.

I like their products and the place prepares a joyable say in shade outside
DIRECT TO THE BOSSDude, I just left your shop, no matter what we eat, the tomatoes and peppers that always come with it, that is my right, do you understand, I'm underlining it, you say 'IT IS MY RIGHT', "the employee made a gesture towards you", are you joking, bro, what gesture are you talking about about tomatoes and peppers? You treat people according to the person. Don't be a boss, you can't be a matron, go back to your village
