Finally came to Ahgassi Gopchang on my latest trip to LA. My friends had been raving about it. We got there around 5:30 on a Sunday and only waited maybe 10–15 minutes for a table for 3. Loved looking at all the Kpop groups and celebrity signatures in the meantime.

We ordered the large intestine bbq selection for 3 people, and it was SO GOOD. One of the best meals I’ve had recently. So nice that the servers help cook the meat — I would not have known when they were fully cooked. The banchan and sides are also delicious. Loved the steamed egg and cold broth. The intestine is so flavorful, chewy and succulent — barely needed the sauces.

Toward the end, servers used the remaining intestines and fat to make fried rice. We were so full at that point, but it was so good. I legitimately can’t wait to plan another trip to LA just to go to Ahgassi again. For 3 people plus soju and including tip, we paid $172 ($57/person).

Celebrated my niece's bday here while we were visiting LA. Meat was superb and I like that it was the staff who cooked the meat 😅 Did not want for additional side dishes because there was a lot and they refill too. Went on a weekday so we didn't have to line up for tables. But if you're going on a weekend, beware of the crowd. Being an Army, this was a must-go-eat place for me!

The short rib had a bad smell and sour taste. I ate a few bites and decided not to continue eating it. The pork also didn’t smell fresh, has an upset stomach after eating here 😭

Me and my dad were in L.A. on a little father-and-son trip from New York, and he said, “Let’s go for Korean BBQ.” So I looked up the best spot nearby — and Ahgassi Gopchang kept popping up. We showed up early evening and had about a 40-minute wait, but honestly, it wasn’t bad at all. We grabbed a couple of beers, talked, watched the crowd come and go — everyone walking out smiling and full, so we knew we were in for something good.

When we finally sat down, the place was buzzing — sizzling grills, staff running around, laughter, smoke, the whole Koreatown vibe. The waiter could tell we had no clue what we were doing, so he jumped right in, recommended what to get, and basically guided us through the experience. Every plate that hit the grill smelled better than the last.

We got a mix of meats — everything was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly with help from the team. The banchan was amazing, and that fried rice they finish on the grill at the end? Absolute must.

The service was super friendly, the food was incredible, and the energy made it one of the best dinners I’ve ever had with my dad. Totally worth the wait.

🍻 Go hungry, grab a beer while you wait, and enjoy the ride.

This place isn’t just dinner — it’s an experience. We’ll be back.

I ordered a mixed beef intestines. The sauce they used while cooking was extremely sweet and salty, which caused the intestines to burn even more. They didn’t even replace the grill, and instead a different server just came over and scraped off the burnt oil with a spoon. The service was unfriendly, and eating burnt food made me feel really upset. The restaurant was also extremely loud, so I couldn’t even hear the people at my own table. I’m definitely not going back.
