Do not go if you are bi. They will discriminate against you just because you are too drunk and dancing on the platforms that are meant just for the dancers. They kicked me off but did not replace me with another dancer so I jumped back up again. This is not a safe space for bi guys to have fun while their girlfriends are there. It’s my birthday by the way. I’m upset and my gay guy friend who I’m in love with is mad.

Nice bar to spend a night out with friends, can have a table to chat or hit a dance floor. Friendly staff is a huge plus.

Incredible vibes
Drinks are expensive here
I use to love this place but in the last 2 years it’s been in a decline. From the music to the expensive drinks. $10 for modelo is RIDICULOUS

everyone in my group had their phone stolen. from the aggressive signage warning of pickpockets we noticed on the way out and a couple other reviews, seems like this is a recurrent problem here. too bad, otherwise a fun place.
be sooooo careful I know THREE stolen phone incidents from my friends. one was two in one night. literally be so careful. fun dancing tho…
A bartender charged a $4 tip without my consent. That is stealing!
Bartender is amazing and so sweet, genuinely cared about us having a great time. Provided so many snacks. Drinks are cheap and strong. My friend did get their card and ID stolen tho…

One of the most important establishments in LA
$40 for 2 drinks (aperol spritz water down and beer) shoulda asked for a breakdown that’s our fault but Jesus Christ. And for those who will say they didn’t get charged those prices well think about how that’s problematic. Only came cause a friend was visiting from out of town. The vibe has since changed
drinks are cheap and strong, bartenders are so sweet and nice. this is where you need to pregame to get drunk and get lit. it was definitely an older age group/locals compared to LA bars/club, so don’t expect the crowd to be perfect to your taste if you’re in your 20s. cute bar !
One of the best gay bars in LA!
Super chill and laid-back.
I love the energy, the bartenders are very nice and service is quick!
I love attending the events there as they are always a ton of fun and always different!
I highly recommend it if you're looking for a very well-run bar, and want a more relaxed and fun atmosphere!!

Akbar is a neighborhood bar with a great dance floor, a welcoming community, and even free parking in the back!
Parking: There are a dozen parking spots behind the building and more free street parking on Hoover
