This restaurant has been here as long as I can remember! It’s always fantastic! Traditional, lovely, local without any LA nonsense. The real deal. You won’t be disappointed.

Vegetarian options: I had the vegetable cut rolls, and they’re outstanding!

Parking: Plenty of metered street parking

Went here yesterday evening. Japanese pork cutlet and sushimi.
The cutlet was hard, chewy and breading was just falling off. Probably frozen then cooked. They gave me $2.00 off a $36.00 meal. Not acceptable to me. Oh... And I ate three -four strips and stopped. Not even good / eatable.
The atmosphere was cheap, old, nothing done to sprouse it up to Santa Monica standards. There are much better restaurants for food and atmosphere on Santa Monica Blvd.
Not a choice I would recommend at all.
The waitress seemed not at all interested in my play of food not eaten.
Disappointed.
