Alan's has always been a great coffee shop. I have gone for many years and have never experiences such awful and disrespectful customer service from the staff members. I went today (01/17/2025) and ordered an oat vanilla latte. I asked about their matcha drinks and the girl taking my order seemed annoyed that I asked and ended up telling her that, not the matcha, but 2 of the same drinks. After she charged me, she went to make my drinks, but kept whispering to the other staff member something about my request. She handed me my drinks one at a time and I then proceeded with going outside to drink my latte. When I had a sip, it was missing the vanilla flavor. I went inside to inform her that the vanilla flavor was missing, and she very rudely said, "well I did not charge you for the vanilla flavor" (this was said loudly for the other customers to hear) and proceeded with very disrespectfully handing me the vanilla flavored bottle. I politely informed her, no need, and proceeded with leaving the coffee shop. I was quite disappointed in this encounter. No one deserves to be treated in this manner. I should not feel uncomfortable going to Alana's to get my coffee, but after this situation, I will think twice about going unfortunately.

We are obsessed with the coffee here. Great quality consistently. It’s usually packed in the mornings but the line moves quickly.

Great coffee, great atmosphere, douche bag barista.
My son who is on the spectrum who was a weekly patron and was having trouble when paying for his 5 dollar coffee a few weeks back and the barista humiliated in front of the customers waiting behind him by saying don’t worry about the tip because you only tip a dollar when you come in. Last I heard a dollar on a five dollar purchase is a 20% tip.

My son would be horrified if he knew I posted this and he told his mother, step father and uncle that all wanted to come in and have a word with the manager not to do that.

My son hasn’t been back since. Shame as that has been where he has written his last 2 published books.

Love coming here and getting my morning coffee and pastry. The atmosphere is welcoming and love a neighborhood coffee joint. If in the area and love a local, smaller coffee shop then don’t pass this place up!

Great coffee, cool vibe, friendly staff, plenty of seating with outlets for charging inside and out, free onsite parking bathroom, reasonable prices. What else can you possibly demand from a coffee shop. Hard to find one that has all boxes checked and is not Starbugs in a dreaded shopping mall.
