Antiqua Bread is a hidden gem on the LA / Alhambra border with delicious Mexican food, baked goods, and beverages. This is not a taco stand or a large Mexican bakery. It's really a place for traditional Mexican breakfast like huevos rancheros with generous portions accompanied with cafe style drinks, including flavored lattes and matcha, aquas frescas, and delicious Mexican specialty baked goods The chocolate flan cake is amazing as are the other baked treats. The breakfast items are generous, delicious, and served all day. The menu is large but not huge - allowing them to focus on quality over quantity. This hidden gem is worth seeking out whenever you're in the Alhambra, South Pasadena or El Serano area. They also have locations in Highland Park and Laverne.

I ordered one coffee to go. The barista, Jessica, looked busy. Then, a male walked in to pick up and order and began chatting with Jessica. She literally stopped working and walked to the man and continued chatting. Then she poured herself a drink she had prepared and began drinking it while still chatting with the man. What made it worse, she then poured a cup from the drink she made herself and gave it to the man. 5 minutes had passed so I finally had to asked about my coffee. I waited a total of 10 minutes to get my one coffee. She claims she was busy preparing a large order, but I know what I saw. I'm sticking to Starbucks!

Food was great with great prices. First time there for 2 breakfast plates and coffee around $ 50 dollars no more than that. Free parking.

I love coming to Antigua for their Guatemalan bread and breakfast. It is really amazing to be able to go down memory lane and re-live the times of my childhood through their food. The only reason I don't give the food in this place 5 stars is because a couple of times, the food tasted different, sometimes better than others. I'm not sure why, maybe a different chef, perhaps? I still keep coming back because this place has a nice relaxed atmosphere and delicious Guatemalan pastries.
