DO NOT go here please. We tried to dine here before our concert at the Walt Disney concert hall. Arrived at 5:30pm and was told half of their menu was no longer available (they open at 5?). Despite the manager's attempt to help us. The food did not arrive until almost 7pm so we had only 10 minutes or less to eat when we ordered before 6 pm. The portions were small, overly salted, the short rib was cold when it arrived.
Management, please fix how you operate this place because it's clear that the restaurant is not functioning and I feel bad for your employees and customers who have to pay the price for your shortcomings.
Please dine somewhere else before your show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Don't come here!
We had lunch ar Asterid on Sunday, November 17, before a concert at the Phil. While the food was excellent as usual, we had the worst dining experience we've had in years. Our appetizer did not arrive until midway through the main course, and the vegetables that were supposed to be served with the entrée came separately so they were cold when the main course was delivered. We had to ask for serving utensils. I don't know if the problems were caused by our server or the kitchen but the server was our contact and she did nothing to make the meal go smoothly. I regret reflexively leaving a tip. It was not earned. Won't return.

Absolutely delightful foods and service! My vermilion fish was divine and albariño was a great combo.

Stopped in an hour before a concert at Disney Hall. Sat at bar where Brian was mixing the most delicious cocktails. So sweet and attentive. I ordered the caviar bite ( who knew caviar and tamal go so well together?!), the heirloom tomato with salsa Macha, light but flavorful, and Cafe de Astrid cocktail... that Cachaca and absinthe were stiff but the almond milk and cinnamon were soothing..

Location is good but menue is not and very overpriced
Excellent flavors for unique dishes. Dishes are small for sharing. Nice atmosphere, good for conversation. Attentive service. Perfect location for Disney Hall, Ahmonson Theater & Dorothy Chandler Pavillion.

The food was really good. The grilled avacado was interesting but the portion size was small. We enjoyed the chicken liver mousse. Unfortunately, the service was very slow. The servers were very polite but not very available.
Astérid has been our go-to pre performance restaurant. One of our favorite things is to sit at the bar to enjoy a cocktail and share dishes. Occasionally, we sit in the main dining room. The service and food up until last night had always been consistently high. To our disappointment, last night was different. We invited another couple to join us in the main dining area pre-opera. The service was extremely slow, the menu limited, our dishes came out late, 2 of the 5 cocktails on the menu were not available, and we were informed after a long delay that one of the appetizers we had ordered was no longer available (mind you we had an early dinner reservation). The staff was apologetic, informing us their bar manager had quit recently and that the kitchen was short staffed. As a consequence of the slow service, we had to scarf down our meal in about 15 minutes. The prices are very high, making the rushed experience even more unsatisfactory. Based on other recent reviews, our experience does not appear to have been an aberration. Astérid missed the mark for us last night. We hope it works out its issues because we've really enjoyed it in the past.

Our reservation was for 6:00 but they didn't take our order or even come to our table until we managed to flag someone down—not our server—at 6:30, and food and drinks didn't come for another 45 minutes after that. We had to keep flagging people down for any kind of service—wine or food. We've never felt so ignored at a restaurant before. They finally apologized and assured us that they'd take some items off our bill for the inconvenience but they didn't even do that right. (And mistakenly charged us for two glasses of wine before they had even brought out the second glass—which we told them we didn't even have time to drink at that point). We couldn't even wait another minute for them to correct their mistakes, as we were already late for an LA Phil performance. We've dined here numerous times but have never experienced such disappointing service. The food wasn't even all that great this time. Hope it was just a fluke but we won't be back to find out. Too many other places in the area to check out instead.
This was our first time dining at Asterid. It's a little louder than we like but the food was quite good. The grilled avocado was stellar and different while the risotto with prawns was also quite tasty. We enjoyed the chicken and short rib that was also unique with flavors. Service was just ok and this is clearly a spot for patrons of the Disney Theatre since it cleared out including staff by 9:30p. The wine list is sparse and they still use vacuum saver vs Coravin or better technology. We'd go back for sure but with different expectations.
A lovely room and the food was prepared with care. We were there when the Disney Hall was "dark" so it was very quiet and empty. We enjoyed the shrimp risotto, and the roast chicken. The chocolate budino was amazing! The service was excellent.
We were surprised to be the only diners on a Saturday night just before a show at the Ahmanson. The server was pleasant enough and very friendly, but she wasn't able to describe some of the dishes very well. We started with the Chawanmushi which was a bit watery but had good flavor. Next we shared the prawn risotto which was very tasty and cooked perfectly. Lastly we had the vermillion (fish) which was also cooked perfectly and was delicious. We ended the dinner with a lemon cheesecake with blackberry sauce (nice and light, not too heavy) and the bundini which was very rich and chocolately. Meal was great overall, it was just kind of eerie being almost the only ones there - there was a few people at the bar and two guests came in just prior to us leaving, but again, so strange on a weekend night to be so empty.
Many menu items were not available, even after the server said that a substitute entrée was available, it was not. The food was not as good as it has been in the past. The service was poor. The waiter did not pour more water or wine, even once. Very disappointing and a bit embarrassing since I had invited guests.
