I remember growing up in the 80's eating at Astro Burger on the corner of Alvarado St and Village. That restaurant has been closed, but I am so glad the owner still keep this one open on Melrose. I stop just by with my family for dinner and the astro burgers taste just as good as they have always been. Love that original charbroil burgers with that marinated sliced lettuces. They keep that classic vibe and nostalgia atmosphere. Will always come back every once in a while...

Nice folks - nostalgic - “solid” food - ok, not great - not bad - solid. Big cheeseburger - could have been juicier. First bite good - could taste the char in a good way. Meat kind of cardboard ok - not bad - not great. Big though. Onion rings pretty good - old school batter - plain. Coleslaw very good - old school deli style. Chocolate milkshake - mediocre at best. Very nice staff, especially the nice lady who took our order. Not a bad meal - just mediocre.

The staff was kinda having difficulty to understand what we wanted, took several times to repeat... Food was good but too spicy, too bad they didn't ask for spicy level. Apparently the girl employee messed up the order of the next customer as he came back to the counter and seemed to also have difficulty to make himself understood.
Maybe this girl has to be replaced by someone more competent
