We just left the restaurant and ordered the fried fish, veggie combo , and zilzil tibs. We totally misjudged our time before a comedy show and had to turn our order from in restaurant to to-go. They were super understanding. Therefore make sure you budget time accordingly when you go. We did eat the food in the car (I do not recommend this lol it’s not very car friendly) but it was super tasty. I would recommend anyone to come here for tasty Ethiopian food.

I had high hopes for Awash based on a recommendation, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. The wait time for food was extremely long, and when it finally arrived, it didn’t meet expectations. I ordered the tibs and vegetable plate, but the flavors, particularly the injera, were disappointing. I’ve enjoyed Ethiopian food many times before, so I was surprised by the lack of authenticity in the taste.
Additionally, the service was lacking. I noticed several staff members and friends dining and taking breaks, which left customers unattended and waiting for extended periods. This made the overall dining experience feel disorganized.
While I appreciate the recommendation, I don’t think I’ll be returning due to the poor service and underwhelming food.

Excellent Ethiopian food. The veg combo was great, especially the Masir Wot lental dish. Chicken tibbs were fantastic.

Unbelievable flavors! My friends and I were blown away by the vegan combo—each bite was a burst of spices and textures that danced on our tongues. The Awaze chicken? Profound fire! Tender, spicy, and perfectly cooked. This place doesn’t just serve food; it serves a delightful experience. We’ll be dreaming of this meal for weeks. Do yourself a favor and GO!!!

I come here once or twice a year and every time the food is so good I get emotional. Plus it's very reasonably priced!

Disappointed at Awash
Awash used to be my go-to spot for delicious Ethiopian food. Sadly, since the change in ownership/management, it's been a real letdown. The vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients I used to love seem to have disappeared. The dishes now taste watered down and rely on cheaper substitutes.
For a bill that easily topped $70 for two, the experience felt overpriced and underwhelming. Hopefully, they can recapture the magic of their past, because the old Awash was truly something special.

There is an old lady that works there with the most disrespectful service, threatening and cussing and aggressively dismissing you. A couple waiting on their debit card was told by her it's not my business they will mail it to you. I address who I thought was the owner. He apologized but said we're always having problems with her but what can we do? I say fire her.
