Chef Barb and everyone that helps run the shop are just solid, cool, nice people. I was actually kind of shocked to see some of the negative comments on here. Obviously there is going to be some variation and preference differences in flavor/tastes/textures of the many common deserts, but I’ve never been dissatisfied even when some of the desserts have their own unique spin to them. I absolutely love this place and miss living right next door to it! The cinnamon rolls are my favorite, along with the seasonal pineapple dole whip, ooey gooey cakes, and the strawberry shortcake/cheesecake. Def recommend checking them out!
I love this place (the chocolate banana bread pudding is top tier) but I ordered a gift card as a gift for a friend that never arrived and multiple calls and emails to the business went unresponded to. Ended up having to go through my bank.
Don’t order the 3 leches cake, is not just bad but terrible!
The Baseline: For a desert shop the flavor of offerings must out-weigh the taste of pure sugar, there must be unique/rare offerings that drive me to go there, and the value of the desert must be balanced with the fact I probably just finished a meal.
Food: This is a Filipino based desert bar that compliments Big Boi just down the street. This place has great deserts, so great I have seen them packaged at Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney. I have had Halo Halo in the Philippines and I prefer the Americanized Halo Halo I get here. It just has that extra that I prefer. The bread puddings are sweat but the flavor always comes out over the sugar hit I am getting with the custard of the pudding. Also the Cookie Monster is a must take home because a ginormous chocolate drizzled chocolate chip cookie is a fun thing to have on hand.
Service: I have always had good to great service at B Sweet. They were out of drip coffee on my last visit and they were able to make me an espresso americano mixture that hit the spot and wasn’t on the menu. The charged me for a drip and that made me happy.
Ambiance: The seating on Sawtelle is nice (even on cold nights) and the inside has cool niche decorations. The service line is efficient with a good flow from ordering to waiting for your items.
Recommend this place for after dinner Sawtelle night.
I was really excited to try the tres leches cake after seeing it on Instagram, so me and my friend came here to get some. When I entered the store nobody greeted me and the staff all looked bored and unhappy, and they kept up that attitude while I was ordering, which already gave me bad vibes. Once I got my cake, it was nothing like the Instagram video. The cake there was moist and spongy, and what they handed me looked like it just came out of the freezer. I kid you not, my arm was shaking as I tried to cut a piece with my fork, it was that hard. So my friend told me to go and ask them if I got the correct item, and when I asked and said that tres leches cake isn’t like that, they said that it was supposed to be rock hard because that was “their version of tres leches”. Excuse me, what?? Just admit that you scammed me into buying the last batch that was frozen, or just tell me when I order to get something else. The lack of honesty was appalling and cake disgusting. Even though they were kind enough to replace my cake with something else, I wish they had just owned up to messing up instead of trying to sell me off something that was obviously spoiled/old. It seems like the staff does not respect the customers.
Food: it is delicious and, as the name would suggest, sweet. We ordered the pandon halo halo, the original halo halo, ube bread pudding, and other sweets. Overall, you get what you pay for. Everything was delicious. It is very sweet, so it is easy to share the desserts.
Serviece: they were nice and helpful.
Atmosphere: it was nice. Outdoor seating was small but worked.
Overall, it is definitely worth the stop.

I’m officially done with ordering from here. I initially ordered the Tres leches cake probably over a year ago and would order it every few weeks. It was a little bit dense but generally pretty tasty and I like the rotating flavors. However it seemed to progressively be getting more and more dense but I just refused to believe that this was the case. I most recently ordered tonight and the Fruitloops Tres leches waspractically inedible. Incredibly dense, overly sweet, and actually required force to cut into. I just can’t believe that they allowed this to go out the door. So disappointing.

We had the ube bread pudding and the ube cake.. Both had a very artificial taste. The Ube cake was extremely sweet and has a weird aftertaste. The bread pudding was nice and warm but was also a little too sweet and it was just too boring. I feel like i I can do them myself and I’ve never baked before. My excitement to see this place was quickly replaced by disappointment.

A really nice cashier had a super calm demeanor he looked young and efficiently explained the flavors to us. We also met the owner, Curt (Kirt?) who explained their impact and history of/with the area bringing Filipino food to popularity. Such a wonderful story and a down to earth guy. Wishing him and Barbara many more years of success.
I appreciated the ice creams a bit more than the bread puddings as they were overly/artificially sweet tasting. We ordered the red velvet icecream and the green coconut icecream.
Love music here is fantastic

I order pick up every time I go and I’ve had 2 experiences where I order my desserts ahead of time and show up with no ordered prep for me. They’ve also prep my desserts and not give me my entire order. I recently went this past Saturday and there was no order ready for pick up. I say my name and one of the employees recognized my name saying he saw the receipt and that something happened. I had ordered 20 minutes before I don’t understand what the excuse is to not prep it. Especially weeks ago when they had the cookie croissant and they claim they had no order on my name and I had proof of my email order and I got lucky there was one cookie croissant left because the place was busy. I don’t trust ordering online now to just show up and still have to wait because they don’t prep my order. Never had this problem with the k-town location. Sawtelle has been a disappointment service lately.

The donut is AMAZING. It was one of the best I've had in a while. The Buko Pandan ice cream had a great texture but didn't have much flavor. The Circus Cookie cake slice was dry and crumbly and WAY TOO SWEET to eat. The Four Seasons was also super sweet but overall had a good flavor and the sweetness seemed more balanced (we still scrapped off 1/2 the icing). The prices aren't high compared to a lot of dessert places, and id go back to try other things. The cheesecakes and bread puddings look interesting. I'd also definitely go back just for the donut, but would try another flavor ice cream. I think this place might be for someone with more of a super sweet, sweet tooth, so I might not be their audience. The donuts though!!! Lol

Hadn’t been here in a while and was really looking forward to it. Extremely disappointed, seems like they have changed the recipe. The consistency was not the same. :(

It was at the Topanga Social location of B Sweet, where I ordered the ube cake and halo-halo. The halo-halo was okay, not exceptional - it did not have a generous serving of the sweetened beans, fruits or jellies typical of this dessert so when it is all mixed with the shaved ice, It didn't taste much of anything. I did appreciate the real ube halaya and leche flan toppings, though. The ube cake, on the other hand, was very disappointing. The cake itself was dry, scant and did not taste of ube at all. It was mostly frosting, which had no ube taste, and I can tell, was mostly powdered sugar and drops of artificial ube flavoring. I do hope they will improve the quality of their cakes.
