I have been coming here for a decade now. There is no better Indian restaurant in LA area even if you paid 2x.
Try their Daal Tadka or Bhindi Fry or lamb shank sheekh. All menu items (almost) are just too good; well cooked; right mix of spices and not too hot and never bland. Their small chai and Parle G ice cream sandwich may appeal you if you want to try something unique. People here have changed over time but always friendly. Suggest you reserve table in advance.
The food is delicious. It’s not your traditional Indian restaurant. The food tastes more like Bangladeshi cuisine for some reason, which is a big plus for me. The beef reminds me of the yummy, slow-cooked, low-effort (I mean free from too much stirring, frying, oil separation, and tons of spices) qurbani beef from my childhood.
My husband loved the ghost pepper lamb vindaloo. It was too spicy for me, but really tasty. He also liked the yogurt appetizer.
I absolutely...
The food and service here was excellent but for the price and upscale aspiration I think the presentation and ambiance was lacking. The space is super dark and loud and the tables tiny and packed together. The Asamiese fish curry was the best thing we had and the Indian inspired cocktails were innovative and terrific.
