Fantastic pastries, service, and vibe. The egg roll croissant and tomato sandwich are our favorites but everything we’ve tried has been delicious. Grab a coffee from Heavy Water and chill in the courtyard, or take things to go and relax in LA State Historic Park.

They sold out of a lot of their stuff Sunday afternoon, but I liked their persimmon loaf.

This spot is inside a little restaurant community butted up against Chinatown.

The ladies in there were super friendly and the pastries all looked incredible. The (2) we had tasted as good as they looked. I particularly recommend the egg roll croissant. Great concept executed really well.

Will definitely be back.

Great pastries and great location. Love sitting at the court yard. Its perfect to visit all of the businesses for a quick lunch, pastry and a coffee. I've been searching for my favorite croissant on the East Side and this might just be it!!

Cute tiny place, all vegan! Unsure? Just ask them! Located inside the small courtyard/houses. Front section is a restaurant that serves tasty burgers

The pastries are delicious and there is a wide variety to choose from. It’s set in a little courtyard slightly off the street, and there is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. There a shady garden in the back, and a sunny courtyard in the front. Pet friendly.

There’s a reason Jennifer Yee’s downtown Los Angeles bakeshop @bakers.bench was crowned by the New York Times as one of “22 of the best bakeries across the US right now.” And, it just happens to be fully plant-based, too. We adored sitting on the porch of the Chinatown-neighborhood Craftsman which houses Bakers Bench, to enjoy great coffee, her epic plain and almond croissants, beyond delicious strawberry coconut scone, and her delicious and inventive seasonal fig pastry. Thank you, @bakers.bench. We will definitely be back!!!

I found my way into a dark courtyard in Chinatown and happened upon Bakers Bench. Their vegan croissants the furikake one especially are flaky, rich, and shockingly buttery. There is peaceful back yard to nibble in and feels like a little secret I just have to share

I’ve been coming here for years and get the furikake croissant everytime! It’s the best. But I have to say the customer service is always 10/10. The baristas are wonderful and the owner is such a delight and usually goes into an explanation of how things are made and the labor love done to make the pastry you choose. Really feels like a shop around the corner bakery with unique flavorings. Couldn’t recommend more! 💕
