Overall dinner at Le dräQ was GREAT. Food was amazing, we had their Guacamole and chips, their and queso which I wish I could eat like soup. Drinks were well made and their Baco shrimp and pork were divine. It was a bit busy and it seemed like they were understaffed. It took a while for table to be cleared and for us to get our check once we asked for it.
We went during DineLA, but we'd been there before when it was Bar Ama. The food and drinks are excellent, the ambiance is great. My only minor beef is that it was pretty crowded, so the service was a bit slow, but still didn't feel neglected. They could have maybe used one more server.
Soooo nice to get some of the Baco Mercat items back. No OG sandwich ... and not sure the wagyu one really approximates it. But great anyway. The chicken enchiladas were very tasty. Staff very nice as usual.
If you ever enjoyed chef's previous restaurants, Bäco Mercat & Bar Amá, this place is a must! It both takes me back and has new dishes that are exciting and just as delicious! Get the hamachi crudo, you won't regret it.
If you loved Baco Mercat, you'll be happy to see a lot of the faves from that menu on this one!
My wife and I desperately missed Bacot when it closed post covid and always loved the chef's sister restaurant Bar Ama so we were thrilled for this new concept that blended the best of both worlds. The menu if fun, delicious, and invented. So happy to have their baco, the chef's signature sandwich again, and their Toron Baco was by far our favorite. Lovely setting, wonderful service and great drinks. Cant recommend enough.
It's great seeing Baco Mercat and Bar Ama merge with some of their greatest hits. We had the carpaccio, the scallops, Le Draq baco, and the cheesy chalupa kinda thing. (Their new menu isn't online, and I can't remember the actual name.) All were delicious. Upscale bites that don't break the bank. While I still miss Baco Mercat's happy hour menu, it's nice to relive some of the memories at Le Draq. Thank you, Chef C!
Overall was pretty disappointing. I had never tried Bäco before and was sad I never had the chance. I have been cooking from the cookbook so had high expectations. . The greeting was warm and friendly and the waiter was friendly as well. I would describe the service as “friendly but inattentive “. We were sat next to the server station, so I helped myself to replace the water bottle after we were out for some time. We were second sat, but eventually the hostess came to take our order as the waiter never did. We ordered the hamachi.. worst course of the night. A spoon of guac, cold hash brown , and a scoop of muddy chopped fish. Think of what you would experience at a subpar fast food poke place. That's the equivalent of the small portion of fish. Maybe left from the day before in seasoning? At $28, what a rip off We had the romanesco /cabbage/huitlacoche . It was fine. Not a whole lot of flavor. About 5 florets of romaesco..maybe one left of complete soft cabbage leaf. In a brown butter sauce. Next up were two Bäcos, one soca. The Bäco bread was somehow worse than when I make it from the cookbook. It was tough, hard to cut through. Fillings were muddled , just no wow factor. Honestly I get a better flatbread sandwich at my local fast food middle eastern resaurant. My dining partner couldn't even tell it was shrimp , as it was cooked to where it was tough. The mushroom soca, was on a crispy unleavened flatbread base. Kinda reminded me of a frozen mushroom pizza. The topping was just wet. My dining companion felt bad and finished my portion as I thought it was gross. We left and luckily Sonora tacos were down the street so had a taco to finish the night
First time at the new Baco / Bar Ama from Chef Centeno. The food was excellent - we had all vegetarian fare - cauliflower, roasted squash, agnolotti pasta and baco with Za'atar etc. Vibrant atmosphere with a good selection of 90's music and friendly service.
Excellent on all levels. Service top notch, friendly, attentive. Comfortable space and vibe. Menu is creative, varied and delicious; dishes offered are a wonderful blend of the old, sorely missed Baco Mercat and the sadly under-appreciated Bar Ama. And surprise! It's affordable. Thank the food gods that LA's stellar food scene includes le draQ.

Was surprised that what was formerly known as Bar Ama was now le Draq. Combining menu items from Ama and Back Mercat, which was a long ago fave or ours. The guacamole is always on point. The squash blossom quesadilla not so much - thin and not much flavor. $4 for a ramekin of hot sauce seems a bit excessive. Margaritas were tasty.
The best of Bar Ama and Baco Mercat combined in a wonderful new menu. A must for those dreaming of the return of Chef Centeno's baco and other Baco Mercat faves.
A pre-Theatre dinner was superb on every level. The menu, and food were both very impressive. The only downside is lack of available parking. That said, our waiter was knowledgeable, engaged, and seemed to enjoy us enjoying everything about the restaurant. As promised, he had us out in time to get through the Ahmanson. And based on all this, inclusive of, but not limited to the name change... We will be back. again and again.
Hit Bar AMA for the first time in a minute and it still slaps. Every dish we had was on point. We had three of the salads— our favorite was probably the Crispy Eggplant Salad, but the Brussel sprout Caesar and the Fig / Croquette salads were both hits. We also appreciated the throw back to Baco Mercat and enjoyed one of the updated Bacos. Finished it off with the albondigas and the spicy shrimp with tortillas.

Everything we had was stellar. LA is so fortunate to have a place like this that turns out excellent, dynamic food year after year.
