Fantastic cocktail bar in LA. Make sure to make reservations for this spot. If you eat at Mother Wolf, great for after dinner cocktails. Or if you want to eat some of the Roman street food here, you wont go wrong either. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting LA (like I was) looking for a top notch cocktail bar for drinks, food and vibe.

Bar Avoja is a new concept for us local Hollywood-ites who have been frequenting Mother Wolf since their soft opening several years ago. Bar Avoja is designed smart and immediately makes me want to host a birthday party there. Like Mother wolf there is amazing incredients to be savored and of course the bread service is impeccable. Cocktails well made by Cameron were so well explained by him that we had to order them…. Twice …each! Also, A big shout out to our great server Madison who added the most fun energy while taking us thru the menu items and made sure we were pairing well. I wish a long future to Bar Avoja as Mother Wolf has that Manhattan high volume energy but Bar Avoja provides that elegant Manhattan experience that one could have for a sexy-birthday or anniversary or with this amazing DJ could host any given Oscar party or maybe even my own birthday party next year - thank you for you all do - Madison you were great and so were the kind Mother Wolf hostesses who checked us in a bit early - that was kind as one sometimes doesn’t want to be so early that its annoying - but then again we can walk here from up Whitley. We shall be back! Thank you everyone!

Charlie was our server and he was the best server I’ve had in Los Angeles recently. Charlie went above and beyond to explain everything to us on the menu and deliver exceptional service. Would definitely go back just for the hospitality.
Cocktails were exceptional. The bartender, Cameron, was incredibly passionate about the cocktail menu.
We had the octopus and one of the pizzas. Both of them were 10/10.
While the food was amazing, much like the other reviews agree, it’s really the service that makes for a great evening out.

Just not enough food options here. I know it’s a bar but the food was mediocre in what they have. It’s in the back of mother Wolfe which has great food so doesn’t make sense. The decor is nice though.

Bar Avoja is a dark, sexy bar tucked away behind Mother Wolf. I stopped in for a quick drink while waiting for my dinner party to arrive at Mother Wolf.
The service was friendly and the drink delicious. I ordered the Morso Di Vita, a cocktail combining Grey Goose, Chinola Passion Fruit, tomato, basil and lemon. The cocktail came with a hefty price tag - $28.
I’ll definitely be back to explore the food at Bar Avoja.

I dined at Bar Avoja and had a wonderful time! Charlie who was on staff, made us feel so welcome. Everyone who worked at Bar Avoja was genuinely excited. Long story short, carbs are heavenly, but they're more heavenly here!
The dishes are so tasty!! So many dishes have a different spin from Chef Funke's other restaurants. I really loved everything I had and am excited to come back and try more.
I thought the Chef had perfected his focaccia before at Mother Wolf, Funke and Felix... BUT, he made a 2.0 version (sold here only), and it took my breath away. The bread pulls apart. I repeat it pulls APART. It's better than sliced bread. And there is a holy moly amount of cheese on top. I'm all about it.
Ok, other things... be mindful of the seating here. It's more 'speakeasy' bar style seating. No dining tables. You'll likely be in a velvet chair, sinking into it. Enjoy it. It's enveloping.
Parking can be tricky here. Take time to find parking. No surprise... it's all metered or paid parking lots. Or one can always valet!
