I feel like this spot has changed and not for the better. They didn't even seem to know about the fish I used to order every time that was a consistent on the menu
Great portion size and cleanliness
The short rib was delightful — the spicy olive oil was a great addition. Nice ambiance, a great addition for the area. You can bring your own wine or enjoy a non-alcoholic refreshment.

Incredible atmosphere, excellent service. We sat at the window bar looking out into the street and it felt so inviting and wholesome. An experience I feel is rare among LA restaurants. The caprese was amazing, deliciously simple and decadent, and with the pesto on top . I had the mushroom carbonara and my wife had the caccio e pepe, both of which I can reccomend wholeheartedly. Also on thursdays there's a farmers market right across the street. Had a great time and we're excited to go back and try more of their menu. Shoutout to our waiter what a chiller.

Finally got the chance to try, I was so excited since the barrio does so much for the community but I don't l ow if it was just me or if they were alittle off bit the shrimp scampi had way to much lemon to the point where it wasn't very easy to stomach, but that may just be me and my family. Don't recommend for those with stomach sensitivity.

I had heard about Barrio from "Good Food" on KCRW, but was slow to try it (we live in neighboring Boyle Heights). The food was terrific; we had the pasta al limone, caeser salad, and the di Spessore Spaghetto al Pesto. All in all, wonderful. Good price point for the food, too. Make the trip to City Terrace and get a bottle of wine from Abe's Market across the street to go with dinner.

It was nice to find something new and different from our usual spots in this neighborhood. Perfect for pre show at the Lucian Fine Arts Theatre. A very helpful and friendly staff and pretty good food.
Food delicious! Service is great....just don't make me pay for the bread. Most italian places they give you the bread and butter as a free starter.

My boyfriend and I went on Valentine's Day, as expected it was quite busy and loud. I think they might've overbooked w/ reservations. I do thank them for letting us come in 20 mins after our time, but we only had an hour to eat and it took about 45 mins to get our food. We had no plates, and serving size for the gnocchi ... was a surprise. He had maybe 7 pieces of gnocchi in his dish. Food taste was great, but size for the gnocchi was not. And the seating. I couldn't walk out of my seat without bothering someone to move out their seat. It was a bit uncomfortable having someone sit next to you with no table. (Seats were in a circle with no table) as they were trying to fit everyone in. So 3/5
Had been trying to make it out here for months but it was a bit of a trek from the westside... finally did it yesterday. In short - totally worth it.Food first:The Pasta Al Limone was delicious. Creamy and lemon forward sauce generously portioned over house cut noodles. Recommend. The Vodka Rigatoni was a standout as well. Could really taste the parmesan after each bite. Again, house made rigatoni. Probably my favorite part of the meal. The Guanciale was also great. They mentioned the boar is slow cooked for 14 hours and the texture proves it.Beyond just the food, Barrio is a great place for a meal. Really feels like a neighborhood anchor in City Terrace, and the owner Carlos is a great and friendly host. He helped walk us through the menu - it is clear he intentionally sources ingredients locally. We ended up chatting for a while about his story, the neighborhood, and more.In summary, Barrio is an awesome spot, affordably priced, great atmosphere, and has the sort of "if you know, you know" feeling that will bring me back.

Delicious food. The lemon pasta was amazing and I will be wanting more. The wide but thin house noodle with it was cooked perfectly. Didn't expect this quality in a cute neighborhood bistro but I'm so glad we tried it. Service was lovely too. Very friendly.
We are fortunate to have Barrio's in our community. The hand cut noodles were perfection. Both the topo chico drinks were delicious. I love the arugula salad. First time trying the cannolis. They were a balance of crunchy, sweet, and creamy dessert.
