My mom said this was the best meal she's ever had in her life and that woman has been everywhere and has very high standards.

Perfect food. Must order for me are oyster mushroom kebab and Dry aged trout crudo. Surprising good. But other foods are good in general.

Great food, great ambiance - had the duck hummus, sweet potato flatbread, dorade, lamb's neck and a few desserts! All great!

Arrived at 5:20, a few minutes before my reservation. I let hostess know and she stated it wouldn't be an issue and to give her a minute. After 10 minutes and several couples being sat I finally took notice we were being ignored. Nobody else was asked to wait and there were plenty of empty tables. A waitress walked up and asked if we wanted something to drink while we waited which was nice of her but we politely declined. Shortly we were shown to our table which was rather small and in the middle of a walkway. Considering the wait I assumed it would be a better table. Once we got to ordering the waiter told us we had to order appetizers, drinks, main course and dessert at the same time but he would bring us the drinks and give us a minute since we weren't ready. Someone dropped off our drinks shortly after and the waiter came back about 10 minutes later by which time we had already decided to get the check and leave since it was taking too long to get anything and prior treatment had soured the birthday dinner we had planned. Really wanted to try this place but service was really lacking.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my mother's birthday. While most of the experience was great, I was disappointed that there was no candle or special gesture at the end, even though the server was aware it was a birthday celebration. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend this place for special occasions.

Yummy but pricey. They sold out of most of the entrees by the time we arrived so book an early reservation! Duck hummus was a bit heavy for me but our server made a great recommendation of the cherry tomatoes to brighten the meal.

Always great food and ambience. My friend pushed to get us seated in the main restaurant, not the outer patio. Much better atmosphere inside. The hummus mushaushe and oyster mushroom dishes were the standouts. The malawach is my friend's favorite. The tagine was tender but needed more flavor as a standalone dish. I added in hummus and zhoug and herbs from our appetizers to round it out. All of the dishes were compatible so mixing and matching was very tasty. We had a late reservation so they were out of the baked alaska so we only got the cobbler which isn't really a cobbler. The ice cream and pluots were good but didn't seem compatible with the almond cake. The parts were better than the whole. Drinks were good, with generous portions. Always a great night out!

Opentable Diner

This is honestly some of the best food i've had in Los Angeles, it's rivaled only by its sister restaurant Bestia.

Bavel is the best restaurant in Los Angeles. Been otherworldly all ~6 times I've been there. Incredible food, awesome som, great vibes, fun music, approachable, not too hard to get a table at, everything.

Amazing experience. I would highly recommend. The detail to food, amazing flavors, ambience, service, and overall a wonderful vibe

For a Mediterranean spot, I was expecting that they use olive oil in their dishes but the server told us that they use canola. The food was good, flavors were on point, especially the shrimp!

Every dish was mindblowing :) and every server was so kind and attentive even though they're busy - we will be back!!!

Food is always fantastic and never disappoints. Our server Cole was excellent and accommodating. The two issues I have is the noise level is so loud it is hard to have a conversation without raising your voice to borderline shouting. Love the food and pita bread but the portion is small for the price.

Kind of pricy, $200 for two people with no drinks, hummus nduja was a little bit one dimensional in flavor / too tahini forward, the fire grilled shrimp and beef cheek tagine were good!

Xlnt food & service but extremely overpriced. 3ounces of babaganuch for $27 incl tax, tip? Same for 12 mushrooms. The lamb neck is very unusual and well prepared but 50% fat. And they add 4% for “employee welfare.” At their high prices, I think they can afford to cover generous employee benefits.
