Big Man Bakes is my absolute favorite cupcake / dessert place in LA. Chip's cupcakes are the best. He and his team were always friendly in the store, and when I ordered cupcakes for delivery, they were always accommodating with special requests for flavors.
This spot is a treasured part of the DTLA community, and I am hoping for all the best for Chip and his family and the BMB team.

We absolutely love this cupcake spot! The store is always clean and tidy, making it a pleasant place to visit. The cupcakes are absolutely delicious, with my personal favorite being the red velvet. My husband can't get enough of the black and white cupcake. We make it a point to stop by every time we're in LA. However, on our recent visit, we were quite disappointed. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm, but the store was closed. There was no sign indicating why, and both Yelp and Google list their Saturday closing time as Midnight. This unexpected closure was really disappointing. Despite this hiccup, we still highly recommend this place for their amazing cupcakes. Just be sure to call ahead to confirm their hours!

Try going twice already since I’m new to the neighborhood because a friend referred me and heard all the hype just to come to a closed establishment with no explanation notice. Too bad was going to commit to an order for 100 people at my company. I guess next time.

Do small businesses a favor and order in person instead of using ubereats. I’m not much of a cupcake person but these are so moist and delicious. Dark chocolate, oreo, lemon, caramel apple, all amazing.

Small local specializing is cupcakes.Walking by the sidewalk we were welcomed by one of the employees to tryout a cupcake. We tried a two small cupcakes (carrot and double chocolate) both pretty good but nothing out of this world. Each small cupcakes is $2 and larger ones are $4+.A bit pricey but for the area is comparable. Worth a try. They need to sell coffee. Was also told they sell cupcakes for dogs. On our visit someone came in with their pet but I guess they sold out.

The cupcakes are a good size and fresh and very flavorful. I had 2 because I couldn’t put them down ? The apple pie is DIVINE do yourself a favor and try it it’s like apple pie in a cupcake . Thanks Big Man Bakery
absolutely love this spot. been coming here since 2014 and the quality is still unbeatable. my personal favorite is the double chocolate cupcake, it’s so moist and delicious. really can’t name another cupcake spot that can outdo the big man, who i happened to meet the other week when i went in. Chip was helpful and patient and even hooked me up with his personal favorite (carrot cake) when i asked. definitely recommend big man bakes to anyone in la searching for delicious cupcakes.

This place has cupcakes that taste like they are baked in heaven. Angela & the owner & other staff members are also absolute angels. Angela goes above & beyond customer service by making me laugh or smile every time I see her. I work for pet care in downtown LA & I always tell tourists to go here & The Last Bookstore around the corner. If you have dogs, they also sometimes have pupcakes, but I recommend you call ahead of time to see if there are any left before you walk your dog down there.
