This place is so epic, and the guys working there last night were real gentlemen. Should have caught their names. It's not often you walk into a fast food joint just an hour before closing only to encounter a few guys working there who are actually passionate about the food in a real way and want to engage with us as they did. They were crackin jokes, makin people smile, and stirring up some bangin eats. The food here is exactly what it looks like. Old school burger joint with all the classics, and some additions of mexican influence that add that spicy picante zest that american burger joints have always been lacking. The ice cream is great too -- not van leuwen or whatever.. this stuff has that texture in the ice cream that takes me back to the little diner i used to go to as a kid in my home town. Much praise to these guys. Give them raises!! They deserve it. They're raising the guest experience, bringing back returning customers, and deserve to be compensated for it!! I'll definitely be back -- if nothing else, I'll be getting one of those hats. They got killer merch too.

This is one of the best places in West LA to grab a breakfast burrito. The burgers are great too, but I’m always sure to grab a breakfast burrito after a night out.

Glad to see this LA classic still standing after all these years. I used to go here for late night double chili cheeseburgers in the 80s. The food was always delicious. 40 years later I went back, and everything was just as I remembered it - great burger with a nice thick tomato and the chili and cheese on the double chili cheese burger and chili cheese fries blended together perfectly. Everything hit the spot! Thanks Big Tomy’s. (Sad to see Kelbo’s across the street is gone).

Great service. Just wanted a grilled cheese and fries. I was surprised when they asked me what kind of bread I wanted. Didn't see an option to add bacon so I just went with the basic.

Grilled cheese was good but lacked a bit of buttery flavor you expect from the grill. The fries were so fresh they burnt my hands. They were excellent but I had to pair it with some no name ketchup that wasn't very good

Service was excellent as well as the price. Please get better ketchup.

Casual burger joint open late. Their breakfast burritos are very popular. Staff is fast and no-nonsense. Seating is limited. Perfect for a late-night craving.

Avoid Big Tommies' Taquitos Plate at All Costs OR BETTER YET— avoid this place.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't this. If I could give Big Tommies zero stars, I would. I ordered the taquitos plate, and I honestly don’t know where to start.

First, the taquitos were more like sad, limp sticks than crispy, golden bites of joy. I could tell they were sitting around for way too long, and instead of a satisfying crunch, I got an oddly chewy, soggy mess that just fell apart. The filling inside was a bland mystery meat that tasted like it had been seasoned with disappointment and regret. I could barely taste any seasoning, which, let’s be honest, is the bare minimum you’d expect from a place that’s supposed to specialize in this stuff. Oh and let me say this…. It taste like the taquitos they you buy from the market… yeah, those microwave ones!

The sides? Don’t even get me started. The rice was undercooked and had the texture of cardboard, and the beans? Dry as the Sahara, with zero flavor. I tried to douse them in hot sauce just to give them some life, but even that couldn't save it. The guacamole was a sad, a green water down mush that tasted like it had been scraped out of a plastic tub days ago.

And don’t think I was spared on the presentation either. The whole plate looked like it had been thrown together by someone who had no idea what they were doing. It was a mess—just a sad pile of food that didn’t even look appetizing.
Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, even if you’re starving and nothing else is open. Big Tommies, you’ve completely lost me.

I’ll rather spend $30 at Burger King.

Always a the best fresh tomatoes, fresh food, something you can't get anywhere else. It's a LA landmark.

The pastrami is amazing, the cook is quick enough to make you appreciate it, and takes his time enough to make you feel the quality of the work he does, very rarely have I seen a cook have that perfect balance.

Big Tommy's on Pico Blvd promised a burger experience so glorious I could taste it from my home, but getting there was a whole adventure that should come with a warning label! After nursing my 600-pound self for 15 years without stepping foot in a restaurant, I decided to risk it for what I’d heard were the best burgers in town. Little did I know navigating the bumpy sidewalks and dodging errant curb ramps would take a full hour in my wheelchair. By the time I finally wheeled inside, I was more exhausted than a marathon runner! I ordered 5 of their Chili cheese double burgers, praying they’d be worth the struggle. An hour later, while I was fighting off a drool-induced tsunami, the burgers arrived, looking like golden crowns fit for a king. Sure, they were delicious, but wouldn’t it be nice if they’d work on that accessibility? Because let’s face it, a burger shouldn't require an adventure quest to enjoy it—just hand me my food and let the good times roll without a side of physical challenge!
