Is it really normal for a small, tucked-away coffee shop on a side street to charge $6.50 for a single cup of Americano?

The average price for an Americano, even in coastal areas, is around $4.50. In fact, in many places you can buy a matcha latte for about $6.

So are they adding gold dust to the coffee or something to justify charging $6.50 just for an Americano?

And when you add a tip, you end up paying about $7.50 for one cup of coffee.

This place doesn’t even have an ocean view or anything special like that. It’s not right by the beach. It’s in a location like Sawtelle, on a regular side street.

Happened on this place while driving around LA for the first time. An unassuming little spot with fantastic food and coffee, quick service with a smile and unique menu choices. Makes me wish I lived here.

I have been a big fan of this cafe for more than a year. super cozy and comfortable. Above all, Tako is the best barista. Her coffee is exceptional, and she is open-minded and talkative. I highly recommend that you all come here.

A very nice coffee shop with good food and nice peopIe. I discovered it while doing laundry at laundromat nearby. The little plaza it is in has some convenient small places, also, e.g. the Mail Boxes place. And I have been able to find parking right at the coffee shop. The thing that was less-than-optimal for me was they are slow preparing the order. Maybe because they are busy because the place is popular. I like my coffee hot. They make the coffee and set it aside and make the sandwich and so the coffee is not hot when I get it.

Love this little neighborhood coffee shop. Came in this morning after dropping off my Avis car rental and had a beautiful peanut butter, banana, and honey whole wheat toast. Pared that with a cup of really nice coffee with cream, and I was very happy! Always consistent and good here 😋

Just came from Bonsai and Alfred.

1. Free 2 hour parking up top or spacious underground
2. Plenty of space. And gentle music, nothing deafening
3. The staff were polite and thoughtful.
4. Thai Iced Tea for 5 including tax.
5. Great spot to work
