I currently live in the Las Vegas area, but I travel to Los Angeles about once every month and a half. And every time I’m in town, one of my must-do stops is breakfast at Bulrocho. I absolutely love Korean soups, and Bulrocho’s Short Rib Soup with Young Napa has become a favorite that I look forward to with every visit.
I’m originally from Los Angeles and lived there for over 40 years, so I’ve had the opportunity to try many Korean restaurants over the years. Without a doubt, Bulrocho stands out when it comes to Korean soups. I’ve been coming here for many years, and I’m finally taking a moment to leave a review because it truly deserves recognition.
Their Short Rib Soup is outstanding. It's served piping hot—boiling, actually—which I really appreciate. The flavor is rich with a deep, savory bean paste base. The beef rib in the soup is impressively large, especially for a soup dish, and it's incredibly tender—so tender it practically melts in your mouth. The Young Napa is cooked perfectly: soft, flavorful, and not at all tough, unlike what I've experienced at other places.
The banchan (side dishes) are just as impressive. They typically include freshly made kimchi, crisp cucumbers with bean paste, and a variety of other small dishes that are all fresh and flavorful. They perfectly complement the soup.
I also want to highlight the excellent service. There’s one young woman in particular—with blonde hair—who has served us several times over the years. She’s consistently polite, attentive, and genuinely seems to care about making sure we’re taken care of. She always checks in to see if we need anything and does it with a great attitude. Honestly, if I owned a business, I’d want someone like her on my team. She’s one of the best servers I’ve ever encountered.
If you’re a fan of Korean soups, Bulrocho is a place you absolutely need to try. They offer a variety of soup dishes, and both the food and service are exceptional.
Service is always fantastic here~ I only eat one thing and I find myself craving for it once every short while~ it’s their Galbi + cabbage soup~ so so so so good! And flavorful! I couldn’t get this anywhere else in L.A. and trust me, I’ve tried many places.
Just wanted to leave a review for their good food, my favourite soup, and they’re always on point service! Simple, great food!
Yes their parking could be tricky~ I always visit in the morning before Park’s BBQ is open so you have plenty of parking. Otherwise, valet parking here but they do validate so you only pay I believe 2 dollars.
Goat soup!
Our second time at Bulrocho Korean Restaurant in Los Angeles, and it was just as amazing. The table barbecue was a highlight, meats grilled right at our table. Friendly staff, cozy vibe, and great service. We’ll definitely be back again!
always friendly, the boss's service is good, and the thing I eat most often is seonji haejangguk.
The best haejang soup in town. I want the soup forever. And goat soup family size is awesome. Small size goat soup isn't go great
Their broth is very rich
The best in LA.
It was good to have hangover soup in LA. I am mostly satisfied with everything, but the oxblood portion was way less. Only one piece of oxblood per soup does NOT make sense. They said I could add more but then I had to pay extra. It basically cannot be named as "ox blood" soup. They should focus on the portion, not putting in a lot of veggies.

Sure, here's your comment in English:"I just had a meal at this restaurant. It was Saturday night, and there was only one table of guests, which was concerning. The ingredients were not fresh, and the grilled eel was tough and hard to chew, and it s not fresh…The kimchi seemed old and had an off taste. I'm feeling a bit unwell after eating here. I would recommend avoiding this place."

Food is MUCH better when eating seated inside instead of takeout.
The best goat soup in DTLA. I wish I lived closer to this restaurant. I have been coming here for over 10 years and have always received excellent service and enjoyed delicious meals every time I visit.

When I went on a business trip, I had hangover soup and dried pollack and bean sprout soup as hangover after a company dinner. It was the best.

We entered this restaurant on an ordinary morning and it looked unremarkable, but when we got our dishes we were stunned! This is the best meal I have had in the 20 days since I came to the United States. The OX blood soup (special) is there. If we have another chance, we will definitely patronize this restaurant. The service is very good! We tipped 18%. Will definitely come again
