Had Basil Pizza Bar cater my Retirment party and I will most definitely use them again. The food was fresh, delish and prepared right in front of you. The staff was professional and arrived early, was prompt in setting up, breaking down and cleaning up. I received dozens of compliments from guests and will absolutely use them again. My sister hired Basil Pizza to cater her wedding in June. I was so looking forward to the dinner she had created with the cater. Unfortunately, day of they showed up late and caused the entire night to be behind schedule. To make matters even worse, they didn't not provide nearly enough food for the 135 guests invited. About 70 guests were fed ... The rest of the guests only received a mediocre CHEESE pizza and or nothing at all. I'm not sure what happened, but this was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. This company did not fulfill their legal agreement. About a week or so after, she tried to contact the catering manager via phone and email and there was no response. When the manager finally made the effort to contact her, she was not apologetic and did nothing to make the situation right. In addition to all of this, thcompanies contracts state that you may Not review the company poorly. If this doesn't communicate red flags, I'm not sure what does. If they were a company that honored their commitments there would be no need to include that in the contract. Their food and service would speak for itself. If you are looking for a caterer I would think twice about this one. I hope that Yelp isn't persuaded to remove my review, like others have been. Yelp, deleting constructive reviews only hurts the customer in the end. Hold businesses accountable for their mistakes and allow your users to make their own decisions. Unfortunately this catering company fell short. The event I went to was supposed to have unlimited pizza. They didn't have toppings available to choose from because they ran out. On top of NO salad or pastas to choose from. It took a couple hours to get anything out. They really need more than two ovens. Especially for a party greater than 100. Setup is not like what these photos show. When we arrived the buffet line we asked if there was more and they just laughed. All that was left was cheese pizza. Checked the other tables and they didn't get food either! By this time they were already packing up. We had to leave the event early due to not eating and being up since 6:30am. So sad that they couldn't have presented their company in a better way. I would never trust them.

I have been throwing parties for 30 years.... from hiring the world renown Collin Cowie to throw a bash of 1500 people to throwing together a caviar and champagne intimate gathering for 8. When I say I know how to entertain.. that is not an understatement nor one I take lightly. I know food, quantities, cleanliness, presentation, servers, and chefs. This company let me down on every single level. From being late... when I explained to the manager timing was everything because we hired two helicopters for my daughter's gender reveal... and every moment was timed to the minute. When the 2 CHEFS? Showed up over 30 minutes late to set up what looked like a table that should have been at a carnival and not a 13 acre property in Beverly Hills. CHEF? These were two young men that had on dirty clothes and their attitudes matched. I ordered pizza and salads for 65 and when I say there were salads for maybe 19 people... I am not exaggerating. I was going for a VERY upscale casual afternoon and what I got was the WORST food to ever be served at my home.. to the worst presentation, attitudes, cleanliness and everything else to do with this company. Had one person put down a real review of what this company truly represents... I could have saved myself some serious embarrassment. I would have been better off serving ANYTHING but their food. This is a kind review for what was the biggest debacle to ever grace my home. You are better off doing it yourself than hiring this 4th rate chop shop.

We had an amazing experience with Basil Pizza Bar at our party. They were very responsive after my initial inquiry. The booking process was very easy. Their set-up exceeded my expectations and their team was super friendly to our guests. We also hired a bartender through them who completely exceeded our expectations with her mixology skills. And the pizza was sooooo delicious!! We will definitely book them again and refer them to our network.

I can't say enough about how happy I am with Basil Pizza catering. As an ex New Yorker, pizza is a religion. And so, for my 70th birthday, I wanted someone to come make fresh pizza for me and my friends. Leo and Teresa, our fabulous chefs, showed up early and set up their brick ovens and began the prep of salads, appetizers and pastas. And while we were enjoying those, they started tossing pizza dough and creating such a fun ambience. What a great experience. I couldn't be happier with the food or the pizza or the pizza chefs!! Can't wait for another event so I can call them back for more!! Thank you!!!

Basil Pizza did a fantastic job for my client's event. I am an event planner myself and this was the second time I have hired them. Once for my personal 40th birthday celebration, and now for my client's. They do a fantastic job, are professional and friendly. Food is so good. Fresh ingredients, pizza dough tossed fresh on site, and they can make you pretty much anything you want. Also, you have to try their meatballs! So good! Solid delivery pizza. I got a large supreme. It was very well balanced. A lot of toppings with excellent meat to vegetable ratio. I really like the sausage they use. It's not too salty. In fact, the entire pizza wasn't too salty or heavy. It's also on the thinner side and not that doughy. I finished half a large pizza easily. The pizza sauce is really nice, but the ranch sauce wasn't really my thing. It would probably taste better with wings. Too bad they're closed on Sundays.

I ordered from here through DoorDash a bunch when they were still open. It slowly became my favorite local pizza, and then it was gone! Yelp says it'll be back March 1, 2022 and I sincerely hope that is the case (sooner would be ok too!) You truly don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. I wish they would post updates to their web site instead of Instagram though, I don't have time for another app. In any case, please come back soon. Best pan pizza in LA since Villa in Culver City left us, and that's saying a lot!

The whole process of coordinating Basil Pizza Bar for our event was seamless. Vanessa was excellent in responding to all my concerns. The guys were also excellent in their set up and presentation of the food. Everyone enjoyed the freshly made pizza. It was a super hot day but the Basil Pizza team was all smiles! I highly recommend!!

This is one of my favorite pizza places in all of Los Angeles. After seeing the news that Bootleg was going to close (at least for now), I rushed to get some slices faster than religious zealots rush to Chik-Fil-A upon learning of a huge donation to anti-LGBTQ organizations! I didn't pre-order an entire pizza...just walked in and got 2 slices: a 'white' pizza slice and slice of the Cheese Louise. The white pizza had a nice combination of olive oil topped with some cheese including ricotta and some lemon (big fan of the ricotta and lemon combo) . The Cheese Louise was also super delish. I love the crushed tomato sauce used at this place, which really shines here. The dough is amazing here as well. It's got a light tartness to it almost like a milder sour dough. I might sound repetitive because I may have covered a lot of this in my last review here. Hopefully they find a new home soon and get back up and operating. Love this pizza.
